Station 3 Breaking Down Two Ways Materials: sugar cubes, 2 jars with lids. Fine sand paper, course sandpaper 1. Line one of the jars with a strip of coarse sandpaper. Label the jar coarse. 2. Line the other jar with a strip of fine sandpaper. Label the jar fine. 3. Put a sugar cube in each jar. Gently swirl the jars for one minute. 4. After one minute, open the jars and compare the sugar cubes. Record your observations. 5. Clean up put the sugar cubes in the container provided. Dust off the counter. Pour the mixture into a petri dish. Observe with a hand lens. Record your observations. 4. Compare the chalk before and after sitting in vinegar. 5.
