I want to thank Grant Tribble from Raymond James for sponsoring my group lessons this month, I hope everyone who came out learned a little something about chipping/pitching/and putting. It was really fun to be able to teach y all for free thanks to Grant's sponsorship. It's wonderful to have such a great community of people that continue to do special things here. We have done a few things to the course so I wanted to let y all know about that we did DryJect on 8 greens which will help extend the life of out greens. We previously did 7 greens last February so now we only have 3 greens plus the putting green left for the last round of treatments. 1 We have also sprayed 2 applications on the greens for "goose grass". Hopefully these treatments, along with the aerification we did on June 27 th, will finish off our "transition" period and the greens should be back to looking like monarch greens
should look. I anticipate the greens will be fully transitioned by the second week of July. There have been some cart tire tracks that look like burn marks on certain fairways and I wanted to explain to you how that happens As you all know, it hardly ever rains here, and it s been very hot. The combination of these two things makes the golf course extremely dry, and no matter how much we run the sprinklers we can't put out enough. When golf carts or maintenance vehicles go over a really dry spot, it breaks the blades of grass leaving behind "tracks". The root system is not affected, only the part of the grass that you can see above ground is It happened last June as well, and it will get better in the coming weeks, we just need some rain. Superintendent-Terry Stephenson DryJect is a revolutionary service which, when added to the maintenance program, can reduce the need for core aerification and greatly amplify the benefits of sand amendments by distributing them into the ground more completely. Congratulations to our new hole-in one member: DryJect s high-pressure, water-based injection system blasts aeration holes through the root zone to fracture the soil, while it s patented vacuum technology simultaneously fills holes with amendment. It will relieve compaction, increase water filtration, reach the root zone with oxygen and amend the soil all at the same time, leaving the surface smooth and playable. The DryJect application on our six problem greens is working. The process will help break up the surface to promote drainage. Roy Bowen - #11 6/10/16 2

Thanks for the cool beverage Roy! Because of the flexibility we have in allowing players who forgot to sign up or, for other reasons they didn t get registered, we often have to place a high handicapper with lower handicapped players.
