A healthy grapefruit tree can produce up to 350 pounds of grapefruit in one season!

WHERE DO THEY GROW? Grapefruits grow best in subtropical climates and sandy soil. Florida is the top producing state in the nation, followed by Texas and California.

FROM THE GROVE TO YOU Nearly 70% of Grapefruit grown in the US comes from Florida. Click here to see the video!

FLORIDA JUICING Grapefruits are harvested when they reach their peak level of sweetness. Click here to see the video!

NUTRITION NUGGET Is essential for the growth and repair of body tissues. Helps heal wounds and repair and maintain healthy cartilage, bones, teeth and skin. Acts as an antioxidant, fighting free radicals in the body. This may help prevent or delay certain cancers and heart disease. Citrus fruits, such as grapefruit, are a great source of vitamin C! Your body cannot make vitamin C. It s essential that you eat foods that contain this vitamin every day!

NUTRITION NUGGET Dip fresh grapefruit segments into a low-fat yogurt dip for a healthy snack. Top your favorite salad or cereal with grapefruit segments. Add grapefruit wedges to your favorite smoothie. Sprinkle a pinch of brown sugar on half of a grapefruit and roast under the broiler until bubbly for a tasty treat. Make grapefruit your go-to fruit!

GET UP AND MOVE! Around the World Basketball Game Each team (types of fruits) lines up at the starting line. They make the shot from a designated space before moving on. The first team that makes it around the world wins!
