If you have a home or family business that you would like promoted at the Fair then you might like to consider sponsorship. Your early commitment to sponsorship enables us to give you maximum advertising opportunities. All donations for sponsorship are tax deductible. If you are intending to help with sponsorship please let Sr Anne know by Friday 24th April as flyers will need to be printed. Any amount is gratefully accepted. Come in and see Sister Anne to find out what we can offer you! Many of our College families do like to sponsor the Fair and if you are thinking you might do it this year, now is the time! We have Gold and Silver package specials. Please do not feel limited with these packages. Our target is to raise $20,000 to cover the costs of the rides, hire equipment and advertising. We attract thousands of visitors to the Fair each year and much of our success is attributed to our many sponsors. We really appreciate your generosity. Fair Roster Thank you for your early response to our Fair Roster - It has been great! If you have not yet committed to a time, please contact or see Sr. Veronica as soon as possible so we can finalize the roster. Convenors are still needed for the following stalls - Plants, Coffee in Toddlerland, Craft, Monster Raffle and Novelty Wheel. If you feel you can take on one of these stalls, please see Sr Veronica or Sr Anne as soon as possible and they will be able to explain exactly what is needed. St. Michael s Trash and Treasure Cleaning out your cupboards, shed or house - keep in mind this stall at the Fair. If you have goods for this stall, you can leave the goods in the shed near the tennis courts, or leave the items in the green bin in the lower school carpark (limited space in Many thanks. this bin). DON T FORGET THAT ONE MAN S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN S TREASURE SECOND HAND UNIFORMS There will be a 2nd hand uniform sale from 7.30 10.30am and 2.30 5.30pm in year 6 undercover area on Friday 29th May This year we are reintroducing the $2 Mystery Bottles to the St Michaels Fair. Bottles and jars filled with all kinds of goodies are a special treat. But we need your help! If every family could fill just two bottles, and remember you can be as creative as you like. Favourite treats to find in bottles are wrapped lollies, hair and beauty items and little toys. If you have no little bits and pieces to put in a bottle, just bring in your empty bottles and leave them in 5B or if you have no bottles, send in some little bits and pieces and we will marry them up with a special bottle. Thank you, we really need your help JARS AND BOTTLES We are looking for clean 250ml washed and de-labeled glass jars for jam. Please drop them in at the office.
Raffle Prizes Do you have a major prize or can source one that you can donate to this years raffle. A holiday, bike, canoe, tinny. Are just some suggestions. Please talk to Sister Anne for more information. Trash and Treasure what a great treasure hunt this is. This is a very popular part of the Fair but cannot be the success it is without volunteers and donations of good quality items. If you have any household items, clothing, toys that are looking for new homes, please arrange to drop them to our bin near the junior car park or talk to Sister Anne to arrange a time to take them to our storage shed. Fantastic Funland & the Novelty Wheel - We are in need of little items for prizes. Good places to look are Crazy Clarks, Overflow, Sam's Warehouse. Ideas are bottles of wine, chocolates, lollies, yoyo's, card decks, glow sticks etc. NEED SOME EXERCISE We will be needing some volunteers to distribute 20,000 flyers into letterboxes advertising the fair. This is an excellent way to spread the word about the fair and a great way to get exercise as well. RAFFLE TICKET SELLING At Morayfield Shopping Centre on 22nd and 23rd May. The more people, the less time required for each person. IDEAS TO MAKE FOR THE FAIR Why not try: Fudge & Coconut Ice Marshmallow Rocky Road Chocolate Truffles Candy Popcorn Meringues Toffee & Toffee Apples More delicious recipes can be found at www.taste.com.au, www.bestrecipes.com.au and below. COCONUT ICE 4 cups Icing Sugar 3 cups Coconut 1 tin Condensed Milk 1 tsp Vanilla Essence Pink Food colouring Mix all ingredients together. Separate into 2 bowls and add pink food colouring to one. Press into a loaf tin and refrigerate. Cut into 3cm squares to serve. PLAIN TOFFEE 2 cups Sugar 3/4 cup Cold Water 1 tblsp Brown Vinegar Sprinkles (optional) Place all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook until syrup is golden brown. Stir over heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil - do not stir. Remove from heat and allow bubbles to settle. Pour into small patty cake papers. If desired decorate with sprinkles. MARS BAR SLICE 3 Mars Bars 3 cups Rice Bubbles 90g Butter 200g Melted Chocolate (cooking or normal eating chocolate) Grease and line slice tin with baking paper. Melt Mars Bars with butter and mix with rice bubbles. Pour mixture into tin. Melt chocolate and pour over slice. Refrigerate. Remove from tin and cut into pieces.
ROCKY ROAD - KID STYLE 1/2 cup Mini Marshmallows 500g Chocolate Melts 1/2 cup Small Jubes Sprinkles and Hundreds and Thousands Melt the chocolates. Line the tray with alfoil. Pour in the melted chocolate. Drop the marshmallows and Jubes on top and they will sink. Sprinkle over the hundreds and thousands and sprinkles. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to set. Remove from fridge and break up to serve. CAKE AND JAM STALL Every Year our Cake and Jam stall is a huge success thanks to the parents, students, grandparents, families and friends who help bake for the stall. Once again we are asking if you or someone you know has any spare time to bake Cakes, muffins, bread, biscuits or relishes, jams, lemon butter, and pickles for our Cake and Jam Stall. If you are able to do this feel free to drop into administration from week 3 onwards to collect cake containers. We will also have a variety of ingredients that you may require, just ask. Cakes can be dropped back to administration on Friday 29 th or the morning of the Fair. Please remember to make a note of the ingredients used so that we can make labels for the cakes.
