INTRODUCTION & HISTORY Welcome to McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge a tropical-inspired oasis along the Columbia River nestled between Kalama s landmark totem poles and the marina at the Port of Kalama. We re a 40-minute drive from Portland and about 2 hours from Seattle. Inspired by the Hawaiian heritage of John Kalama, the property is reminiscent of the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. You and your guests are sure to feel the relaxation of an island vibe while taking in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. McMenamins celebrates the community and its magnificent Columbia River setting through original art and visual surprises around every corner including a historical take on many of the rooms. Our event space is fondly named Old 97 for the railroad switch engine used to disassemble and reassemble train cars on the massive transfer ferry that crossed the Columbia River at Kalama. This contraption was built by the Northern Pacific Railroad when it began service between Portland and Tacoma in the mid-1870s. Beyond the event space, the island-inspired 40 guestrooms each have private bathrooms and individual lanais, most with a view of the river. Explore the Cloud Bar on the rooftop and enjoy a handcrafted beverage from the onsite brewery. Dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner in the Pub or on the wraparound patio. Let McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge be the place for your next meeting, event or celebration.

The brewery houses a shiny new 7-barrel brew system with modern conical fermenters in bright stainless steel with copper accents. This brew house is equipped with two brite tanks that will assist in the maturation & clarifying process, a welcome addition in the modern production of craft beer. A particularly pleasing aesthetic in the brewery is our onion-domed copper-covered brew kettle, manufactured by Pioneer Tank & Vessel out of Portland this shaped metal component is a first for McMenamins and as far as we can tell, a first in the Pacific Northwest.
