BRASSICA 1 Seminis Brassica Guide www.seminis.com.au

2 BRASSICA Every day for 150 years, Seminis has worked to empower our growers by improving the vegetables they grow and providing solutions to their toughest challenges. Today we are the world s largest developer and marketer of vegetable seeds. But reaching this milestone hasn t been an easy journey. It s a painstaking process that requires patience and the belief that every generation can be better than the last. At Seminis, we re constantly thinking of the next generation. Not just the next generation of seeds, but the next generation of growers and families all over the world.

BRASSICA 3 Broccoli BC1691 BC1691 has an attractive high domed head positioned well in the plant for easy harvest. This product has made a very strong impression with growers who have transplanted in Victoria from the last week of November. Head Shape: Bead size: High dome Fine Summer 11 13 weeks Ironman A dark green, heavy and firm head, Ironman is versatile, high quality and works well in transition harvest periods. Head Shape: Bead size: Dome Fine to medium Transition 10 12 weeks Legacy Legacy is a reliable, cool-season type. It is strong, uniform and has early vigour in the cold. Legacy has fine-beaded, domed-shaped heads with dark green colour and good stem thickness and yield. Head Shape: Bead size: Dome Fine to medium Cool 12 13 weeks

4 BRASSICA Steel This dark green, high-domed variety is sure to make an impression in the supermarkets. It is popular amongst many growers because it is not only high yielding and rich in colour but it is also easy to harvest. Head Shape: Bead size: High dome Fine Autumn 11 13 weeks Cauliflower SV1473AC (Curdivex) Part of the new Curdivex range of cauliflowers, SV1473AC has less wrapping making it easy to harvest, while keeping a bright, white curd. The Curdivex varieties have an open frame which does not require covering like other varieties and although the variety is more exposed to sunlight than traditional varieties, the curd stays white. Due to the open frame it makes it easy to identify when the crop is ready as the curd is easily visible. NEW TO TRIAL Strong Autumn - early Winter 10 weeks SV5982AC SV5982AC is a new introduction to our cauliflower range in the 16 18 week maturity class. SV5982AC produces a plant that is erect and offers good curd protection. With excellent curd weight and overall quality, this variety has impressed growers in trial. A true winter cauliflower suited for fresh market and retail. Strong Cool 16 18 weeks

BRASSICA 5 SV5965AC There s little wonder why SV5965AC is a leading choice for many growers. It matures three weeks faster than other varieties in its timeslot, its strong frame protects itself from the elements and it has a curd that s large and dense. SV5965AC is perfect for both the fresh and processing markets. Strong Winter 17 18 weeks CHARLOTTE Uniform, early and regular maturing, Charlotte is best suited to warmer regions. It has a vigorous and erect plant habit producing firm and heavy curds. Medium Warm 10 11 weeks DISCOVERY Discovery has a tall and erect frame with good curd cover. It produces large, heavy, smooth curds and is suitable for both for summer/autumn harvest in cool areas and late autumn/winter harvest in warmer areas. Medium to strong Warm to hot 11 12 weeks

6 BRASSICA DONNER Donner has a tall, erect frame providing excellent cover.
