Homity Pie 300g (12oz) potatoes 100g (4oz ) grated cheese 200g (8oz ) onions 3 tbsp of oil 25g (1oz) butter 1 tbsp. of milk 12g (1/2 oz ) chopped parsley Salt and pepper 2 crushed garlic cloves 200g (8oz )wholemeal pastry Method Roll out pastry and line a 7"-8" flan dish. Boil or steam potatoes until tender. Chop onions then sauté in oil until soft. Combine potatoes and onions; add butter/margarine, parsley, 2oz cheese, garlic, milk and season to taste, cool. Rules and Conditions 1. Entries in all sections are open to everyone, including children. Exhibitors must all be AMATEURS. 2. Any objection raised as to the qualification of an exhibitor shall be dealt with by the Flower Show Committee and its decision shall be final. 3. All Pot Plants must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least Six months, All other exhibits for at least two months, except in the Domestic Section and where stated. 4. All entries should be submitted on the relevant entry forms. Entries for the Spring Show will only be accepted on the day of the show from 9 am to 10.30 am Entry forms for the Summer Show should be submitted to the Flower Show Secretary, not later than 3 pm on Friday 5th August 2016. Entries will be accepted on the day of the show but the entry fee will then be 30p and must be staged by 10.30 am. 5. Entry fees will be 20p for all classes. 6. The Hall will be open from 9-00 a.m. to 10-30 a.m. and no entries will be accepted after this time. 7. One entry per person in any one class. 8. Exhibits are not to be removed from the tables before the Prizegiving at 16.00. 9. The Flower Show Committee will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur to the exhibits. 10. All cup winners to hold trophy for eleven months. All cups must be returned to the Show Secretary one month before the Show. 11. Prizes : 1st - 30p 2nd - 25p 3rd - 20p. Pineapple Fruit Cake to given recipe on page 7. 200g (7oz) Self-raising flour Pineapple Fruit Cake 142g (5oz) Soft Margarine 2 eggs beaten 142g (5oz) Light Brown Sugar 56g (2oz ) Halved Cherries 340g (12oz) Mixed Dried Fruit 225g (8oz) of Tinned Pineapple pieces (Drained) Milk Method Grease and line an 20cm (8 ) round cake tin with greaseproof paper Roll the halved Cherries in a little Flour and finely chop drained pineapple. Cream the margarine and sugar - gradually beating in the eggs. Then gently fold in the flour - dried fruit cherries & pineapple Add some milk so mixture is of dropping consistency. Pour mixture into prepared tin and smooth the top. Bake in a moderate oven 160ºc 325ºf Gas Mark 3 for about 2 hours until the cake is pale golden brown and shrinking from the sides of the tin. Leave in the tin until cold before turning out. Page 6 Page 7
