Mike Dribin s comments about our events in Chicago: On Wednesday evening join us for Chicago-style deep dish pizza, at world famous Lou Malnatti s Restaurant, just a few-block walk north of the Sofitel, through the heart of the Rush Street entertainment district. Deepdish pizza and assorted side dishes will be served family-style. Space is limited. Thursday morning we travel by bus from the Sofitel a short distance to the dock just north of the Chicago River. There, we will board a boat for an architectural boat tour, highlighting some of Chicago s incredible architecture. We will also learn something about Chicago history and pass the point at which the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 jumped the Chicago River from the south to the north, spreading it to the downtown district. This particular cruise was recommended by the concierge at the Sofitel as his favorite. Dress comfortably, bring sun screen and head cover. Water is provided for free on board, but it would not a bad idea to bring your own. Round trip transportation included. Late Thursday afternoon, join us at our official welcome (and pre- Cub game) reception! We will be in the beautiful Cafe des Artes restaurant in the lobby of the Sofitel as we join each other with great food and drink, which will be All-American in cuisine. Dress is casual. In fact, if you are going to the Cubs game after the reception, dress as you will to go to the game. We then travel to the Cubs/Dodgers game at Wrigley Field. Transportation to and from Wrigley Field will be provided by subway/el ( elevated train, for the uninitiated) transportation, the authentic way of going to Wrigley Field. The Chicago Avenue subway station is two blocks from the Sofitel. We will go north to the Addison Street station, right outside the right field corner. The game starts at 7, so feel free to use as much time as you wish to explore Wrigley Ville around the park and come into the game whenever you wish. With the subway pass, you can leave Wrigley Field and return to the Sofitel whenever you wish. On the registration form, if you have already purchased tickets to the game, please fill in the number of tickets on the registration form, but no payment for tickets is required. However, even if you have paid for tickets, you will have to register for and pay for the subway passes. Following the game and on return to the Sofitel, climb the beautiful stairway off the main lobby of the Sofitel (elevator transportation works just as well) and join us at the hospitality room, on the second floor lobby, just above the main lobby. This is where the hospitality room will be on Friday and Saturday nights, as well.

Friday morning, we will board buses at the Sofitel, and travel to a great day at the world famous Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park, next door to the north. Buses will drop us off and pick us up at the Art Institute. Spend as much time there and move on to the Park, or spend all your time in the Art Institute. Pricing includes round trip bus transportation and admission to the Art Institute. I strongly urge you to check out the collection of Impressionist art. There will simply not be enough time to see all of the Art Institute. Check out the Art Institute website for more information of the galleries and suggestions as to how to best spend your time. Friday evening, we invite you to join us for our signature event in Chicago, a reception and dinner at the Shedd Aquarium. The Shedd is one of the iconic public buildings in Chicago, situated on the city's Museum Campus. We will have full access to the Aquarium. Buses will leave from and return to the Sofitel. The evening begins with access to the displays of Beluga whales and Pacific dolphins in the newest section of the Shedd. You will then be directed to the outdoor, but covered reception area for hors d oeuvres and drink. The view of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline, in the late afternoon/early evening will be special. We will then go upstairs to the historic main circular Caribbean tank, under the big dome of the Shedd. There are other tanks which go out in spokes from the main tank. Dinner will be served at stations adjacent to the main tank. After dinner, we will hear a brief presentation about the history and architecture of the Shedd, followed by dessert in the historic main lobby before returning to the Sofitel and our Hospitality suite. Saturday morning starts early with a great free full breakfast at the Sofitel. We will then take a one block walk to the Loyola University School of Law (my alma mater) for the Executive Council meeting and free CLE. We are inviting our colleagues who are Section members living in the Chicago area to join us for the complete Saturday morning program. Saturday afternoon, following the program at Loyola, we will board buses at the Sofitel and travel for the short ride to beautiful (and free) Lincoln Park Zoo and botanical gardens. Roam the zoo and gardens at you leisure. We never visit Chicago without visiting Lincoln Park Zoo. Don t miss the opportunity to enjoy the vistas throughout Lincoln Park.

Saturday evening we will again board buses at the Sofitel and take a short ride to The Second City comedy club. Second City is a club that has produced many members of the Saturday Night Live artists, and many others. You are invited to sign up first for dinner at one of the restaurants noted below, all within a short walk of The Second City theatre. A description of the restaurants is attached. Space is limited. The pricing for the dinner and show includes roundtrip transportation from the Sofitel, a family-style dinner and admission to Second City. If you only wish to go to the show and not include the dinner package, admission is available separately. Second City offers drinks and food, and those costs will be paid by each of us on our own. On return to the Sofitel, please join us for one final time at the hospitality room. In addition to these group activities, we have a wonderful concierge department at the Sofitel and its members will be happy to make recommendations for other events and book those for you. I am looking forward to showing you around just a sampling of the places, food and culture of my old home town. --Mike Dribin If you choose the dinner option for the Saturday night Second City event, these are your restaurant options and cuisines: Adobe Grill, 1610 N. Wells Street Mexican The Fireplace Inn, 1448 N. Wells Street Steaks, Ribs Orso s, 1401 N. Wells Street Italian The Second City is located at 1616 N. Wells, so all three restaurants are within two blocks. Quoted restaurant prices include appetizers, main course, dessert, soft drinks and gratuities. Alcoholic beverages available upon request, but payment will be made to the restaurant by the person ordering. The meals will be served family style and the items to be served will be selected by us in advance. Space may be limited.
