I love to find simple practical ways to amplify the magic that my female body affords me. It puts me back in the FLO of universal energy and keeps my electromagnetic field open for serendipity. I see my life and work as part of one continuum of expression, so I use these rituals to keep me open to the highest and best unfolding in my life. Most of all, it allows me to be still, feel into my body, and engage my senses very consciously to enjoy the miracle of life all around me. It s really a form of prayer and meditation. Using elixirs to manipulate the energy and vibration of my body coupled with intention setting is the oldest form of magic and the most powerful. My work at FLO Living is based on my concept of Cycle Syncing TM - a female centric health system that shifts what I eat, how I move, and what I focus on each week of the month based on where I am in my cycle. These are the once per week rituals I do each week of the month to keep me in my FLO - body and soul. STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE RITUAL FOLICULAR PHASE Timing: Follicular week. Intention: to open up to new beginnings. Elixir: Woman Balance Tea : Red Raspberry Leaf, Dong Quai, and Nettle Tea (I recommend Traditional Medicinals brand) - tonifies uterus, remineralizes body, and balances hormones to usher in new cycle. Ritual: while drinking your tea - ask yourself - what do I want to focus my energy on this month, what needs my attention and love? 4
OVULATION PHASE Timing: Ovulatory week. Intention: to amplify my capacity to magnetize and receive. Elixir: Milk thistle and Oatstraw tinctures (I recommend HerbPharm brand) - decongests any stagnant hormones and keeps thoughts clear and energy bright. Ritual: take tincture as indicated on dropper bottle, sit in lotus, one hand on heart, one over abdomen - visualize what you want coming to you. 5
LUTEAL PHASE: Timing: Luteal week. Intention: to acknowledge all the sweetness in my life. Elixir: cinnamon ginger honey tea (see recipe below) Ritual: while drinking tea - write out my gratitudes. 6
MENSTRUAL PHASE: Timing: Menstrual week. Intention: to honor my intuitive wisdom, to listen to my inner voice/truth, to let my spirit guide me. Elixir: golden milk tonic (see recipe below) - grounding into the second chakra, fortifying of spirit, whole body decongestant to keep channel clear. RECIPES: CINNAMON GINGER HONEY TEA PLACE IN A LARGE MUG: 1 stick cinnamon broken in half 1 2 inch of ginger (with the peel on, just wash it and slice a bit of the knob off) 1 tsp honey Bring water to a seriously hot boil, pour immediately over contents of mug, cover with a small plate or plastic wrap to intensify elixir for 5 minutes. Sip and enjoy the sweetness! 9
RECIPES: GOLDEN MILK, 2 PART RECIPE GOLDEN PASTE INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup organic turmeric powder 1 cup water 1.5 teaspoons black pepper 5 tablespoons virgin coconut oil DIRECTIONS: 1. In a stainless steel pot, cook the water, turmeric, and black pepper until it forms a thick paste, stirring and cooking for about 7 to 10 minutes. 2. Remove from heat and add virgin coconut oil, using a whisk to fully mix in the coconut oil. 3. Transfer the Golden Paste into a glass jar with a lid, and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. 4. You will use this paste to make your Golden Milk below. 10
RECIPES: GOLDEN MILK INGREDIENTS: 1 teaspoon Golden Paste 2 cups coconut milk 1/8 teaspoon vanilla (optional) Raw honey [or stevia] to taste (optional) Pinch cinnamon (optional) DIRECTIONS: 1. In a stainless steel pot, gently heat, but do not boil, 2 cups of milk with 1 teaspoon of golden paste. 2. A whisk is helpful to fully mix the paste into the milk. 3. Add optional vanilla, honey [or stevia], and/or cinnamon. 11
