A warm welcome from Janet Jay Welcome to the very first Ampleforth Plus Christmas 2015 Brochure, packed with an array of chocolate gift ideas for everyone to enjoy. Our chocolatiers experience, knowledge and creativity can be seen across the whole range, we are certain you will be delighted with your selections and purchases. From a wide range of bespoke chocolates and truffles to hand sculptured show pieces, we have something on offer for everyone; from relative to friend to customer. From the seed of an idea in January, Autism Plus has created a state of the art chocolate factory equipped to the highest standards and producing the highest quality chocolate products. We have been fortunate in acquiring the services of not one, but two, renowned chocolatiers who are looking forward to passing on a whole host of knowledge and experience to young people with autism and other associated learning difficulties, throughout 2016 and beyond. With the space and capability to work with up to 10 co-workers at any one time we are able to offer a unique learning experience, packed with a range of transferrable skills to make the transition from training to work both achievable and realistic. I am confident Ampleforth Plus will achieve significant growth throughout 2016 and I am looking forward to counting many of you, our very first Christmas customers, as our lifetime loyal customers and ambassadors. Our Company Ampleforth Plus is Autism Plus latest social enterprise and is situated on the edge of the Ampleforth valley, in the heart of the Howardian Hills in North Yorkshire. The enterprise manufactures its own range of artisan chocolates, as well as producing bespoke ranges to order. We have the in house capability to literally make anything in chocolate including hand sculptured and decorated table top masterpieces. Our chocolatiers are assisted by co-workers who all have autism and/or associated learning difficulties. To complement the product ranges we also design and deliver a range of bespoke chocolate workshops Our Chocolatiers Andrew Thwaite and Linda Jameson Wilks have between them, over 35 years experience of working with chocolate, they both claim to have the dream job! Andrew trained as a chef specialising in pastry and chocolate, and has experience in many different roles, from working in Europe, founding his own chocolate-making business, to involvement with the Derbyshire Chocolate Company and York s very own Chocolate Story. Linda was a Team Leader and Product Developer at Betty s for over 10 years, prior to that she was head cake decorator at Ainsleys Bakery. Linda met Andrew while working at Betty s, years later they were re-acquainted when she was a demonstrator at York Chocolate Story. Linda has produced many amazing sculptures in chocolate, she is also an expert cake decorator and sugar craft tutor. 3
Our Chocolate Finest quality with 100% sustainably cultivated cocoa beans, made from 100% cocoa butter and Bourbon vanilla. Callebaut chocolate, from Belgium, is officially the world s leading chocolate manufacturer and by far the most popular chocolate brand for many chocolatiers. Our Product Range All of our chocolates and truffles are hand dipped and are available in milk, dark and white chocolate. We use fresh fillings made to our own bespoke recipes, lovingly hand decorated and finished. Our Christmas range is packaged in hand tied, gold and black boxes, in a range of sizes from 6 up to 48. Our hand crafted Christmas themed models are unique, individually designed and created in house. We specialise in the use of vibrant colour and hand piping techniques. Our chocolate Christmas tree baubles are available plain or decorated, with the option to personalise. Our pièce de résistance is our bespoke, hand crafted Chocolate House. To complement the range we have stocking filler lollies, hand tied bags of almond rochas, fruit and nut clusters and crystallised ginger clusters. With sufficient notice we can fulfil bespoke orders including box and ribbon colours, variety of chocolates and personalised foil blocked packaging. 4
