Assail (acetamiprid), a neonicotinoid from Aventis (now Bayer). Assail 70WP registered March 2002 for apple and pear to control aphids, leafminer, leafhoppers, codling moth, and psylla. Assail 70WSP registered May 2002 on grapes for leafhopper control. Cabrio 20 EG (pyraclostrobin) fungicide on all brambles (blackberry and raspberry)for control of anthracnose, leaf spot and blotch, powdery mildew, rusts, and spur blight. It is also now labeled for use on blueberry and strawberry. It is registered for control of Alternaria leaf spot and fruit rot, powdery mildew, anthracnose fruit rot, Phomopsis leaf blight and twig blight, and suppression of mummy berry and Botrytis gray mold on blueberry. On strawberry, it is registered for control of anthracnose fruit rot, powdery mildew and leaf spot, and suppression of Botrytis gray mold Deliver Biological Insecticide, a new B.t. by Certis for use on apple, apricot, blueberry, caneberries, cherry, currants, grapes, nectarine, peach, pear, and plum. Insects listed on the label include blueberry leafrollers, cherry fruitworm, codling moth, cutworms, fruit tree leafroller, grape leafroller, green fruitworm, obliquebanded leafroller, Oriental Fruit moth, redbanded leafroller, tufted apple bud moth, and variegated leafroller. Ecozin 3% EC Biological Insecticide, a new neem, made by Arvac for use on apple, apricot, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, currants, elderberry, gooseberry, grape, huckleberry, loganberry, nectarine, peach, pear, plum, quince, raspberry, and strawberry. Pests listed on the label include various aphids, beetles, borers, bugs, caterpillars, flies, leafhoppers, mealy bugs, nematodes, psyllids, scales, thrips, weevils, and whiteflies. Spartan 4F herbicide received an Ohio Section 18 label for 2002 to control common groundsel in strawberries. Thionex (Endosulfan) 3EC and 50W, labeled for use on apple, apricot, blueberry, cherry, grape, nectarine, pear, peach, plum, and strawberry. Pests controlled include various aphids and stink bugs, apple rust mite, tarnished plant bug, tentiform leafminer, white apple leafhopper, peachtree borer, lesser peachtree borer, stink bugs, green fruitworm, grape leafhopper, grape phyllorera (leaf form), rose chafer, pear psylla, pear rust mite, meadow spittlebug, and whitefly. Registration expanded to additional crops: Agri-Mek 0.15EC (abamectin), new registration (2001) on grapes for mite control; made by Syngenta. Capture 2EC (bifenthrin), a pyrethroid made by FMC; new registration for caneberries (raspberries) for caterpillar and root weevil control. Elevate 50WDG fungicide (Fenhexamid) for control of Botrytis fruit rot (gray mold) on bushberries and caneberries. Bushberries on the label are blueberry, currants, gooseberry, and huckleberry. Caneberries are

red and black raspberries, blackberry, and loganberry. Ferbam WDG fungicide for control of orange rust on blackberry and black raspberry A 24C-registration is required for use in Ohio. Nova 40W fungicide for control of orange rust on blackberry and black raspberry. Savey 50DF received full Federal label for control of European red mite and two-spotted spider mite on plums and prunes. Sinbar herbicide on first year strawberries. SpinTor 2SC (spinosad) by Dow, new registration for blueberry and strawberry (late 2001) for control of caterpillars, dipteran leafminers, and thrips. Tolerance Established with Label Pending: Stinger (clopyralid) has received official tolerance on strawberry for control of thistle and groundsel. Cancellations: Benlate 50WP. Dupont has requested a voluntary registration cancellation for Benlate 50WP fungicide on all crops. The sale and distribution of Benlate will not be legal after December 31, 2002.
