The Busy Bees January 2016 The James F. McGuire Memorial Senior Center 116 Paris Avenue Northvale, NJ 07647 201-767-6299 Acting Director - Peggy Raso Monday through Thursday : 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm - Sunday 1 pm to 3:30 pm Social Service Hours Every Day - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm In Loving Memory of our Departed Director: Dolores Alfis You never really stop missing someone special who is gone. The Center will always remember Dolores for organizing parties for the Seniors along with annual Christmas Tree Lightings, Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween parties for the little ones and other community events. Dolores will live in the warmth of our hearts as we replicate these events. Dolores will be dearly missed by all who knew and worked with her. Dolores was a selfless, giving woman who dedicated many years to the residents of Northvale. She worked at the James F. McGuire Senior Center since 1991, first as an office worker and volunteer, becoming director in 2002. Dolores Alfis, 67, of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Beloved wife of the late David. Devoted mother of David Jr. of NYC and Tracy Littlewood and her husband Thomas of Arlington, TN; cherished grandmother of Thomas, Tyler, Todd and Troy. She will be missed by all who knew her.

From the Desk of... It seems almost surreal that as we end 2015 that we also must accept the end of Dolores Alfis life and time here at the Center. As we sit back and think of all that has happened, we can look to 2016 as a new birth, a renewal. We don t forget what has happened in the past, but keep on going...appreciating each day and each other. Peggy Raso From the Desk of: Augie Agostini Golden Age News I know I speak for all of the members of the Golden Age Club in expressing our condolences to the Alfis family for the loss of Dolores and Dave. She has given so much to the McGuire Center over the years and will be truly missed by everyone. As mentioned at the last meeting, our 2016 dues are due in January and the amount will remain the same as last year at $15.00. As there will not be a day trip scheduled for January, our first trip will be to the Colonial Inn on February 3rd. Colonial Inn s annual Carnival celebration will feature a great day of music, food and entertainment. As this date is on the same day of our February monthly meeting we are changing the meeting date to February 10th. Please record this date on your calendar. The complete list of all of our 2016 trips are available on the Golden Age bulletin board at the McGuire center. Please take a copy home. 2 Using the Van! *New Pricing Schedule: Northvale Residents (local use)$1.00 Northvale Residents Going Out of Town $3.00 Out of Towners $3.00 *Round Trip Prices To streamline Van usage we are asking riders to help by following these simple rules: 1.
