The process is painstakingly done by highly skilled artisans who paint each tile free-hand using natural earth pigments. With Mexican roots in the 16th century and Spanish roots in the 8th century, Talavera reflects Spanish, Moroccan, Italian, and Chinese esthetics in the products you see today. It s hard to imagine a better blend of artistic cultures coming together and is undoubtable why Talavera has such a timeless charm. Materials: Handmade in Mexico using a fine clay body and all natural pigments. Product Usage: Floors, walls, stair risers, fireplace surrounds, interiors and exteriors including water features. It is not recommended for exteriors in freezing zones. Dimensions: 4", 4 ¾", 5 ½", and 6" squares with complementing field tiles, trims and borders. ¼ thick. Weight is ~3.0 pounds per square feet.
