DAY 2 MORNING A WALKING TOUR OF THE UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE TOWN OF HOI AN 07:00-08:30 Buffet breakfast at the hotel 09:00-12:00 3 Hour Walking Tour of Discovery in Hoi An Hoi An is an exceptionally well-preserved example of the most important trading port in Southeast Asia of the period from the 15th until the 19th centuries. Its buildings and street patterns reflect the influences, both local and foreign, that harmoniously combine to produce a unique heritage site. You will walk along the ancient streets to discover the Japanese Bridge: One of the most photographed bridges in Vietnam, Tian Hou Pagoda: a gorgeous 19th-century temple dedicated to the goddess Thien Hau, Tan Ky old house: A well-preserved 18th-century merchant's house, visit some Hoi An handicraft workshops and finally enter the Museum of History-Culture. 12:00-13:30 Each group tour will end at a designated restaurant for lunch, with free flow wine & beer. 14:00 Transfer back to the hotel for free time by the pool or on the beach The group will split into 6 smaller groups, each covering all the same locations at staggered times with their own guide. (Alternative language speaking guides will be provided on request.) Sightseeing in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An. DAY 2 EVENING LET S HAVE A STREET PARTY, VIETNAM STYLE 17:15 17:30 17:45 18:00 21:15 Depart the hotel at staggered timings for Hoi An. On arrival walk through the lantern lit streets to the venue location near the Japanese Bridge Streets of Hoi An Song Hai Square, near central Hoi An, will be cordoned off for your Gala dinner. Chinese Lion dancers and drum music will welcome the guests & floating candles are strategically placed on the river. 30 minutes for pre dinner drinks The street will be decorated by traditional lanterns of Hoi An, old men will be playing chess, writing calligraphy as well as group of artist performing Bai Choi the traditional local game of people in Hoi An with music and singing. The setting will provide an ambience of a centuries old bygone era of Hoi An. We also set up some demonstration of traditional handicrafts from Hoi An including silk lantern making, wood carving, etc. There will be a traditional music, song and dance performance during dinner time. The Vietnamese buffet dinner will be traditional local cuisine. 2 hours of free flow wine, beer, soft drinks and water in addition to the pre dinner drinks this may be extended. We depart the town center and head back for a nightcap at the hotel. We have two locations for the street party depending on the group size this location is based on the larger venue option a smaller party may be held near the Japanese Bridge. A private event in the heart of the Old Town. Lanterns light the scene as you enjoy traditional food and entertainment in a magical setting.
DAY 3 MORNING OPTIONAL TOURS 07:00-08:30 09:00-14:00 Buffet breakfast at the hotel OPTIONAL TOURS: Coconut Village Tour This tour offers an authentic social and cultural insight into the Vietnamese local way of life, including the opportunity to take part in some hands-on activities that are fun, safe and interesting to people of all ages. A wooden boat will transfer guests from Bach Dang dock to Cam Thanh water coconut village. You will receive a briefing about the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families and their community before you board on boat and enjoy cruising on the Cua Dai River. Join the local fisherman on the river as you try your hand at casting a net, learn how to paddle the Vietnamese unique bamboo basket boat and explore the now tranquil coconut-palm flanking the waterways. You will hear first-hand about the extreme conditions endured by soldiers of both sides in this area during the Vietnam War. Lunch is a traditional fair at local family house in the village. Relax and enjoy your surroundings before you bid farewell to your hosts and transfer back the hotel. Antique Vespa Countryside Tour This countryside exploration begins with a ride over the bridge to Cam Kim island and into the beautiful rural countryside, riding alongside the river you will make stops along the way as you visit & explore these sleepy island villages. Zig-zag through breath taking scenery of rice paddies and farmland, taking time to learn local skills from friendly families, enjoy a rice cracker snack and fuel up on local drip-coffee before we cross a spectacular & adrenalin pumping 300 metre long bamboo bridge to the opposing landscape of the seaboard side of the island. You may want to close your eyes!! Onto the water coconut palm fringed Cam Thanh where you will enjoy a delicious local lunch before taking a leisurely drive back to Hoi An for your transfer back to the hotel. DAY 3 MORNING OPTIONAL TOURS 09:00-14:00 OPTIONAL TOURS: Cookery Class in Hoi An Start with a boat trip from the cooking school to Hoi An's colourful central market. Tour the market with an English speaking guide and see the local produce and activities, followed by an interesting and informative tour of a Market Restaurant. After seeing, smelling and feeling its time to get even more hands-on with the cooking class. You will watch demonstrations and be given assistance in creating a sumptuous meal, hopefully you will watching carefully as this will be your lunch!! You will take home recipes and Vietnamese cooking utensil to practice further when at home, so you can cook up a storm for your friends and families. My Son Sanctuary Tour Known as the Valley of Kings, My Son was designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The ruins are considered to be Champa s counterpart to the other grand cities of Southeast Asia s Indian-influenced civilizations with a cluster of deserted and partially ruined Hindu temples and towers that were constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries AD by kings of Champa Kingdom. You will depart from the hotel at 8:00am from here you will drive approximately 1 ½ hours to the site of My Son where, with the assistance of your guide who will point out and discuss the significance of areas and artifacts on the site, you will discover the legendary complex of royal towers and temples. You will have the opportunity to watch a Cham musical performance before your transfer back to Hoi An to arrive at about 1pm. DAY 3 EVENING RICE FIELD GALA DINNER 18:30 18:50 We start the staggered departures from the hotel by luxury coach Arrival at Cam Thanh commune 21:30 22:00 A welcome "GONG BAND" will greet guests at the gate as they cross bamboo bridges from the main entrance, over the rice paddies to the main dining area and market where a welcome drink awaits. Traditional live music & dance is ongoing as they browse the local market demonstration, and wander through the handy crafts demonstration of pottery, calligraphy, coconut leaf folding, lantern making etc Guests can spend time at the floating market watching the boats and interacting with the local people, before making their way to the main Bamboo House area where a blessing ceremony will take place held by local monks. A buffet dinner follows with many local food stalls providing sumptuous options, all washed down with free-flow: House wine, local beers, soft drinks, water, tea& coffee, plus the option to sample rice wine from the alcohol stove. This breath taking setting is lit by floating lotus lanterns on the river and over 150 torches After dinner speeches, toasts and celebrations wind up a memorable evening in the rice field before its time to head back to the hotel.
