Bakers Both professional and amateur bakers are invited to bring their best cupcakes to THE MILL amphitheater where they will compete against one another for fame and prizes. There are four prize categories including Best Themed Cupcake (judges only), Best Savory Cupcake (judges only), Best Tooty Fruity Cupcake (judges only), Best Chocoholic Unanimous Cupcake (judges only), Best Cupcake Display (judges only) and People s Choice winner (calculated by event-goers Voting tickets). Judging will be overseen by local bakers. Different Cupcake Tickets may be purchased at designated tables on amphitheater grounds. Event-goers will select the People s Choice winner with Voting Tickets. Event-goers will not pay with cash. Instead, they will pay with a colored ticket(s) at vendor booths. Cupcake Ticket (cost example) Single ticket $1.00 Six tickets $6.00 Twelve tickets $12.00 For every cupcake purchased, they will receive one Voting Ticket for People s Choice. Bakers will collect Cupcake Tickets from event-goers in exchange for cupcakes. Timeline for Saturday, May 14 Time Description Notes 9am 3:30pm Booth Setup You may set up your booth as early as 9am We cannot be responsible for vandalism or theft 2pm Baker check-in opens in the Main Street office conference room Baker checks in and brings his/her cupcakes (6 samples) per chosen flavor Pick up your collection containers when you check in, and receive your assigned booth letter (i.e., Booth A, B, C) Bakers begin setting up displays in assigned 10 x10 tent 2:30pm Cut-off for cupcakes to be submitted for judging at the Main Street office conference room 4 pm Begin accepting Cupcake Tickets from event-goers 7pm 7:45pm 7pm Collection of all Voting Ticket containers Cupcake Challenge winners announced Cupcake Challenge ends Display judges will visit your completed booth at 2:30pm All bakers must participate in this cupcake challenge by bringing his/her cupcakes (6 samples of each flavor that you plan to make) to the Main Street office conference room for judging No cupcakes will be accepted after 2:30pm in the Main Street office Cupcake Tickets go on sale at four of THE MILL s on-site locations ( Voting People s Choice tickets will also be available at these tables) All cupcake tickets received at your booth will go in the same container and should not be separated by flavor Cupcake Tickets will have no effect on the outcome of the competition These tickets will confirm ticket sales and are for administrative purposes only Display setup must be completed no later than 3:30pm No cupcakes will be given to event-goers without a Cupcake Ticket Bakers, promote your cupcakes The more Voting Tickets per flavor that you receive, the better chance you have to win the People s Choice award Direct these event-goers to the four designated tables on the amphitheater grounds to purchase their Cupcake Ticket(s). A person from each booth will collect their numbered container(s) from the ticket tables and bring each container of Voting Tickets per cupcake flavor to the Main Street office A staff member will take your containers and match them with corresponding flavor of cupcakes Staff members will count Voting Tickets in the Main Street office conference room and report People s Choice winner to Twyla Fristad Please continue to receive tickets until 7pm or until you run out of cupcakes Be sure to stay for the winner announcement Ribbons and prizes will be awarded on stage Photo ops for newspapers, Main Street s Facebook page and website Band will continue with concert until 9pm By filling out the entry form, you agree to not load out earlier than 7pm Cupcake Tickets will remain in container at your booth until 7pm or you run out of cupcakes Keep your booth intact until at least 7pm. Staff is willing to assist with your load-out, if needed

2016 Rules for Bakers Open to any individual or baking establishment. Enter one or more categories. A 10 x 10 space will be assigned to you. You may bring your own tent or one may be furnished for you for $15. Entrant will furnish their own table, floor-length tablecloth and chair. A Table and two chairs may be furnished for $10. Entry must be made from "scratch" (no store bought mixes). Judges will be Bakers and will know the difference. Table signage must indicate the cupcake flavor and all ingredients (not quantities) for safety purposes (food allergies). Refrigeration is not available at the event. Judges will evaluate cupcakes according to presentation, flavor, texture and freshness. Winners in each category will be selected and ribbon and monetary prize awarded. Second and third place winners will also receive prizes. Scores will be tallied and overall First place winner will receive a substantial monetary prize. Money prize winner is solely chosen from judges tasting votes. Judges will select one first place winner and award ribbon and prize for Best Booth and Cupcake Display (judges only) for the most unique and creative display of cupcakes and decorate booth. Event-goers will cast their ballots for People s Choice award based on the amount of Voting Tickets they receive per cupcake flavor. One People s Choice winner will be selected and ribbon plus prize awarded. There are four cupcake categories including Best Themed Cupcake (judges only), Best Savory Cupcake (judges only), Best Tooty Fruity Cupcake (judges only) and Best Chocoholic Unanimous Cupcake (judges only). Monetary prizes will be awarded for the winner in each category. All contest winners will be promoted on Main Street s website and Facebook page (including write-up and photo). Great advertisement for your business!

Registration Entry forms may be filled out online at villarica-mainstreet.com. Once your application and vendor fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation phone call for our event coordinator. If you require assistance completing your application, you may contact Twyla Fristad via phone at 404-205-9732 770-459-6143. In order to avoid being placed on our waiting list, please arrange to complete your entry form right away. Vendor spaces will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Keep in mind that you are not officially registered until your $20 application fee is paid. Vendor fees may be mailed to Villa Rica Main Street at 571 W. Bankhead Highway, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180. Or dropped off during normal business hours at Villa Rica City Hall. Check should be made payable to Villa Rica Main Street. Cupcakes/Display Tables Each baker will be assigned to a table space to display their cupcakes. Event-goers will be able to wander from table-to-table to try each cupcake. Cupcake display materials (stands, decorations, or other props) are encouraged for your presentation area. Cupcakes and display items must remain available to eventgoers until at least 7pm. Cupcake Tickets will remain in container at your booth until breakdown. These tickets will have no effect on the outcome of the competition. They will confirm ticket sales. Cupcakes submitted for judging must be representative of the cupcakes which are being made available to the public. Due to allergy concerns, full ingredient lists must be visible on each table display. Exact recipes are not required. Promotional materials for businesses and blogs are permitted on the cupcake tables. Display signage to identify your business. I you choose to have your booth illuminated electrical outlets are available at booths for a $15 fee. Bring a drop cord, clampon lamp or any other form of decorative lighting to illuminate the inside of your booth. Baker provides napkins for event-goers.

Competition Local bakers will judge cupcakes according to presentation, flavor, texture and freshness. Booth/cupcake display judges will select first, second and third place winners for Best Booth and Cupcake Display. Event-goers will pay $1.00 per cupcake ticket at designated ticket table locations. Bakers will collect Cupcake Tickets from eventgoers in exchange for cupcakes. (No money will be collected from bakers.) Cupcake Containers will be placed at each booth. Eventgoers will cast their votes using Voting Tickets (located at ticket tables). One People s Choice winner will be announced pending the outcome of Voting Ticket count. Promotional Materials During the cupcake challenge, brochures, business cards or other promotional materials from bakers may identify the baker and/or the baker s business on the table.
