Instructions: 1. Wipe ware with a dampened sponge to remove dust and dirt and to condition surface of ware. 2. Place Sweet Dreams and Marshmellow Crème on palette. Using the Fan Glaze load with Marshmellow Crème and side load with Sweet Dreams. Working in a criss-cross pattern begin to apply color to plate for basecoat being careful not to overwork the colors to make them muddy to create a marble looking background. Apply a total of three coats. 3. Set aside to dry. 4. While plate is drying, transfer pattern to tissue paper using the red pencil. 5. When glaze is dry enough place tissue paper pattern onto ware and transfer to piece using the Sharpie marker. 6. Place remaining True Mattes on palette. 7. Using the Round, begin to apply 3 coats of Pineapple to hibiscus petals making sure to follow the contour of each petal. Let color dry slightly between coats. 8. Working from the center out on each petal, follow contour of petal and with the Round streak in the Mango Tango, pulling color out about ½ to ¾ of the way on each petal. Make sure ending blends into the Pineapple if not you can always pull a little Pineapple in from the tip of the petal towards the Mango Tango to soften the edges. Again, this blending will need three coats. 9. Once finished with the Mango Tango you will begin to pull Flamingo out from center going about ½ way over the Mango Tango, making sure it blends on the edges. This blending will need two coats. 10. Apply two coats of Minted to leaves with Round. 11. Use water and the Shader to wipe out the dew drop being careful to only remove Minted. 12. Using same blending technique as you did on the flower petals on the leaves to blend in Succulent around turnbacks and where leaves go under the flower petals and through the center. Apply two coats and soften edges if necessary with a blending of Minted. 13. Place all EZ Strokes on palette and thin to a light cream consistency with Thin n Shade. Also have a small puddle of Thin n Shade on your palette. 14. Using either the Round or Shader, load with Thin n Shade and tap on sponge to remove excessive moisture. Side load with Sierra Yellow and blend on palette. 15. Shade the petals underneath turnbacks and where petals overlap with a float stroke. 16. Apply 2 coats of Fleshtone to stamen and add dots to along the tip of the stamen. 17. Use the Shader and a float stroke side load with Roasted Chestnut to shade stamen and one side of the pollen dots. 18. Float Hacienda Jade around dew drop, under turnbacks and deepen shadows down center of leaves and where they go under flower petals. 19. Float in Light Blue to the dew drop. 20. Detail flower with Roasted Chestnut and the 10/0 Liner by loosely outline petals and adding radial lines follow contour of each petal. Also detail the stamen and pollen dots. 21. Leaves are detailed with Hacienda Jade. 22. Sign piece. 23. When dry, stilt and fire to shelf cone 05-06.
