MAP Tea Menu Our tea is supplied by Canton Tea Black Tea Traditional English Breakfast Robust, deep and rounded, carries milk perfectly. A traditional, strong, loose leaf English Breakfast, the blend reformulated by Rare Tea Hunter Phil Mumby. A small-leaf, high-quality Assam tea blended with two stunning teas from Kenya from the Kaimosi estate and Kapchorua estate, plus a small proportion of China's traditional Yunnan Dian Hong. It's smooth, brisk, fresh, robust - exactly what a traditional EB should be. Classic Earl Grey A traditional Earl Grey that will delight fans of this classic English tea. Chinese black tea, blended with bergamot oil and studded with pretty blue cornflowers. This classic afternoon tea is lively and fresh, with a warm, soft black tea base balanced with punchy citrus. If brewed longer and stronger it can carry milk if desired. Chocolate Blend Rich, malty blend of smooth black teas, vanilla pod and Peruvian cocoa nibs. This luxurious blend of Indian Assam, Chinese Yunnan black, Madagascan vanilla pod and Peruvian cocoa nibs is ab excellent complement to the MAP Afternoon Tea. It is deep, rich and moreish with a velvety mouthfeel. Extremely satisfying with smooth, malty Assam and a hint of plum from the Yunnan black adding an additional layer of dark fruit. The cocoa nibs and vanilla pod provide the depth and sweetness which complements the heady flavours. Organic Chai A blend of Assam and an aromatic mix of fresh herbs and spices. This astonishingly moreish Chai delivers a vibrant, warming kick. Blended organic Assam and cinnamon, ginger, orange peel, green cardamom, star anise, black peppercorns and cloves creates a perfectly balanced spiced tea. Add a little hot milk and, if desired, sweeten with sugar or honey for a delicious, comforting brew.
Oolong Tea Mi Lan Dan Cong This sweet, honeyed oolong tea is bursting with floral flavor. Dan Cong is the champagne of oolong tea: ripe with intense fruit and sweetness. The first time people taste this tea they are astonished by the arresting honey and floral notes - all completely natural. The tender leaves are thoroughly fermented and baked to produce a rich liquor bursting with peach, lychee, honey and orchid flavours. Grown on the lower slopes of Wu Dong Mountain, Chao Zhou, this high-grade Chinese tea can be enjoyed through multiple infusions. Green Tea Jade Tips An extremely high-quality green tea. Mao Jian grows high in the cool, misty mountain air of Zhejiang. It has a clean, refreshing vegetal taste and a long lasting, pleasingly sweet aftertaste. This is a supereasy-drinking green tea. Jasmine Tea Jasmine Pearls Naturally fragrant and smooth. These award-winning Jasmine Pearls are recognised as one of the finest jasmine teas in the UK. Hand-rolled young green tea buds are suffused with fresh jasmine blossoms in the traditional way. Most jasmine tea is artificially scented, but this one is natural, capturing the delicacy of the jasmine flower without overwhelming the sweet, creamy softness of the green tea. Have you tried the afternoon tea here? No but my friend told me it was delicious! She booked on mapmaison.com
Infusions Organic Wild Rooibos A rare and deeply flavoursome Rooibos, grown wild in South Africa. This rare and stunning Rooibos comes from a small, isolated town called Wupperthal in Cedeberg province South Africa. This is the only area in the world where Rooibos grows wild, and in South Africa, over 98% of the Rooibos crop is cultivated on large (white run) plantations. Producing this tea is what supports the local community in Wupperthal - few other crops can be grown on the land due to poor soil and extreme weather conditions. The Wupperthal Original Rooibos Co-op was founded in 1990 to better regulate the industry and market prices. It has had a fantastic effect on the community who are going from strength to strength. The flavour of the wild Rooibos is much richer and maltier than regular Rooibos. It also has beautiful, deep dried fruit flavours. Red Berry & Hibiscus A beautiful scarlet infusion, caffeine-free and bursting with fruit notes. This is a stunning infusion of hibiscus blossoms, elderberries, rose-hips and elderflowers which yield intense soft fruit flavours. The scarlet liquor has a sweet, forest berry aroma and the infusion is perfectly balanced between sweet and tart notes. An ideal iced summer drink, this is also great as a hot infusion at any time of day. Jekka s Organic Chamomile Whole chamomile flowerheads produce a soothing, apple-fragrant infusion. These are the whole flowerheads of the chamomile (Matricaria recutita), bright, aromatic and full-flavoured. The herb has been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes. Delicious to drink anytime of day but with the benefit of being naturally soothing. Jekka s Triple Mint A brilliant combination of three wonderful mints to delight the senses. If you're looking for the best mint tea in the world then this is it. A combination of Wild Jordanian Mint, British Black Peppermint and Water Mint together give an incredible depth and a clean, bright flavour. The mix of spearmint and peppermint will cool and refresh the palate. Jekka is a world authority on mints and this blend has taken the quality and flavour profile of mint tea to a new level. The result is a carefully balanced infusion that will delight lovers of mint tea.
Sweet Mint Two complementary mints and the natural sweetness of wild liquorice root. This unique blend combines Turkish mint leaves with zesty Egyptian spearmint and wild-growing Spanish liquorice to release a deliciously moreish infusion. The Turkish mint is light and fruity with notes of grape, a subtle hint of anise and a cooling finish. It is given a deeper mintier taste with the spearmint and then softened by the long, sweet finish of liquorice root. So good, you will want to drink it throughout the day and on into the evening as naturally caffeine-free. MAP MAISON info@mapmaison.com t: 02072411441
