In the desert gardens, like those found in the Liwa, farmers would live off of the few date palms as the main source of nourishment and shelter. Throughout the years date farmers have continued to inherit the passion and love for date palms, mastering the art of premium dates. Fodakty s Date Artisans are among these date farmers in the Empty Quarter of Liwa. Our focus is to support these local date farmers in mastering the art of producing and selecting the finest premium dates. KHALAS DATES Khalas dates are golden brown and characterized by delicate loose skin. Sweet and caramel-like in taste, they are perfect with Arabic coffee! Ajwa Madjool Sokari Plain Popularly known as the 'King of Dates', Ajwa dates are soft and drier in texture. They offer a myriad of health benefits, one of them being increased immunity. These dates have a special place in Arabic tradition. Madjool dates are large, plump dates with soft and succulent flesh. Once crowned the Fruit of Kings, Madjool dates are bursting with a deep and delicious caramel flavor. Known as Royal Dates, Sokari dates are cone-shaped, with pronounced creases in their yellow skin, and firm, faintly resilient, mildly sweet flesh crystallized sugars give them a pleasantly crisp bite.
