PREFACE The Florida citrus industry has undergone many changes and events within the scope of this publication. Therefore, instead of footnoting each entry where applicable, the following information applies. Freezes generally considered to be of significance in the Florida citrus belt include: December 12 & 13, 1957 December 11, 13-16, 1962 January 19, 20 & 21, 1971 January 17-22, 1977 January 12 & 13, 1981 January 11-14, 1982 December 25 & 26, 1983 January 21 & 22, 1985 December 24 & 25, 1989 Changes in the Florida minimum Brix level for FCOJ have also occurred several times in the past 20 years.
