i Timing A Mother s Day Breakfast This short ebook is intended to help kids put together a Mother s Day Breakfast that s both fully flavorful and as safe as possible to make. Here s what I suggest regarding timing to make that breakfast stress-free. Week Before Mother s Day Decide which recipe(s) from this book you want to make for Mom and ask either Mom or Dad to buy the ingredients. Mother s Day Morning When Mom wakes up, make her coffee (pages -3) or tea (pages 4-6). See the following pages for the recipe(s) you selected: Cereal with Yogurt, Dried Fruit & Bananas (pages 7-8) Berries with Yogurt, Jam & Whipped Cream (pages 9-0) Toaster Waffles with Maple Syrup or Other Toppings (pages -5) Have a great breakfast with Mom! Happy Mother s Day! Bruce Tretter This book is dedicated to my dear ol Mom whose love for life at it s fullest was enthusiastically passed on to her three sons and everyone who knew and knows her!

Easy & Safe-To-Make Instant Coffee TIP: This is the safest and easiest way I know to make instant coffee that also uses a minimal amount of equipment. I suggest just waiting until Mom s awake before you make the coffee so that it s warm when she s ready drink it. And don t worry about making the coffee steaming hot. The most important thing is your effort and thought. Mom or Dad can always warm the coffee again later. Ingredients Mom s Favorite Instant Coffee Sugar Milk Canned Whipped Cream (optional) Equipment Microwave Oven Safe Cup Teaspoon Microwave Oven (insert picture)

. Pour as much cold water () into a microwave oven safe cup as shown in (). 3. When water finishes cooking, carefully touch the cup handle to check if it is cool enough to hold safely. You can always leave the cup in the microwave oven for a minute or two until it is safe to touch. Then hold the cup by the handle to remove it from the microwave oven (), and......depending on how Mom likes her coffee, add - teaspoons of instant coffee (), ½ - teaspoon of sugar (3) and a good shot of milk (4).. Put the cup of water in middle of the microwave oven () and cook the water for about minutes (). 3 4

4. Stir with a teaspoon (), add an optional fun shot of whipped cream (), and... 3...serve.

Easy & Safe-To-Make Hot Tea 4 TIP: This is the safest and easiest way I know to make tea. I suggest just waiting until Mom s awake before you make the tea so that it s warm when she s ready to have it. And don t worry about making the tea steaming hot. Mom will care most about your effort and thought. Mom or Dad can always warm the tea some more later. Ingredients Mom s Favorite Tea Sugar or Honey Milk (optional) Equipment Microwave Oven Safe Cup Teaspoon Microwave Oven (insert picture)

. Pour as much cold water () into a microwave oven safe cup as shown in (). 5 3. When water finishes cooking, carefully touch the cup handle to check if it is cool enough to hold safely. You can always leave the cup in the microwave oven for a minute or two until it is safe to touch. Then hold the cup by the handle to remove it from the microwave oven (), and......open the tea bag (), put the bag in the hot water (3) and.... Put the cup of water in middle of the microwave oven () and cook the water for about minutes (). 3...let the tea bag soak in the hot water for about 3-5 minutes (4). 4

4. Remove the tea bag from the cup and put the bag in the sink to drain. Then......serve. 6...add about ½ teaspoon of either sugar () or honey (3) if Mom likes her tea sweetened - and... sugar honey...a small shot of milk if Mom likes milk in her tea. Then......stir with a spoon and...

Fresh Berries with Yogurt, Jam & Whipped Cream 7 TIP: This fruit combination is just as easy and completely kid-safe to make as it is fantastically flavorful. I used blueberries, raspberries & blackberries because they taste great together and don t have to be cut with a knife. Preparation Time: 5-0 minutes Ingredients (per single serving) Handful of Fresh Berries (your choice of blueberries, raspberries & blackberries) Mom s Favorite Yogurt Jam Canned Whipped Cream Equipment Colander Teaspoon Tablespoon Bowl

. Put a handful of fresh berries in a colander (), give them a good rinse with cold water in the sink () and pour them into a bowl (3). 3. Either serve as is or... 8...add a good squirt of whipped cream until what you have looks about like... 3. Add - tablespoons of yogurt () and a full teaspoon of jam ()....this.

Cereal with Yogurt, Dried Fruit & Banana 9 TIP: Cereal with yogurt, dried fruit & banana is easy to make and fully soul-satisfying. To avoid soggy cereal, I recommend pouring the milk in a separate container, like the coffee mug shown above, so that Mom can add the milk right before she eats the cereal. Preparation Time: 5 minutes Ingredients Mom s Favorite Cereal Milk Mom s Favorite Yogurt Dried Fruit (I m using raisins & dried cranberries, but any dried fruit will work) Ripe Banana Equipment Cereal Bowl Coffee Cup (for milk) Tablespoon Table Knife

. Pour about as much dry cereal into a bowl as shown in (), and add about ½ handful of raisins or any other dried fruit (). 0 3. Pour about as much milk () into a cup as shown in ().. Scoop on big tablespoon of yogurt (). Then have some fun with dried cranberries (you can use raisins for this too) and put them on the yogurt in the shape of a heart. 4. Set the table like this so that Mom can slice the banana and pour the milk freshly on the cereal you prepared for her as shown......in these two pictures below.

Toaster Waffles with Maple Syrup or Other Exciting Toppings TIP: Toaster waffles are incredibly quick & easy to make and can be topped with either traditional butter (or margarine) and maple syrup or some very fun and flavorful different toppings as shown on pages 3-5. Preparation Time: 5-0 minutes depending on choice of topping. Ingredients Waffle Butter or Margarine Maple Syrup (or see p. 3 for Waffles with Chocolate Spread & Whipped Cream, p. 4 for Waffles with Cream Cheese & Jam, or p. 5 for Waffles with Whipped Cream & Bananas) Equipment Toaster or Toaster Oven Table Knife Plate

. Read the directions on the back of the frozen waffle box (). The directions for the waffles I used here recommended letting the waffle(s) thaw on a plate for 4-5 minutes (). 3. When the waffle is toasted to just lightly browned, remove it quickly from the toaster/toaster oven as shown in (). Then......either top it and spread on about as much butter or margarine shown in () and (3) and.... Put the waffle in the toaster or toaster oven () and toast it at a MEDIUM DARK TOAST setting (). 3 Medium Dark Toast Setting...either pour on some maple syrup (4) or... 4.. use your choice of flavorful toppings found on pages 3-5..
