BAKE SALE FOR CHARITY Thanks for taking part in the Bake Sale for Charity. In this kit you ll find tools to help make your event a success. After your Bake Sale, you can make your donation to the Children s Miracle Network at ShareASquare.ca or a charity of your choice. BAKE SALE TIPS Here are some tips that will help you throw a deliciously successful Bake Sale. THE MORE THE MERRIER Invite friends to donate a treat to the cause or make it an event for a community group you re involved in like a parents or neighbourhood group. GET THE WORD OUT Tell friends and neighbours and post flyers to make sure lots of people know about your Bake Sale. LOCATION CAN BE EVERYTHING Know of another community event like a local sports game? Ask if you can set up a Bake Sale table. MAKE IT A TREAT Offering coffee, water or lemonade will encourage people to stop by for a treat. If you have space, provide a few chairs for people to sit down and eat. BE ORGANIZED Find out what other people are bringing to the bake sale to be sure there will be a variety of treats. THINK BIG THINK SMALL Big treats will entice families while smaller, single items are the perfect treat for passer-bys. HAVE FUN Colourful signs and music will attract more attention to your event.

Recipe Card BROWNIES Servings: 24 Squares Preparation time: 20 Minutes INGREDIENTS 750 ml 3 cups KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal crushed to 250 ml (1 cup) 500 ml 2 cups granulated sugar 125 ml 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 125 ml 1/2 cup cocoa 1 ml 1/4 tsp salt 125 ml 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts 125 ml 1/2 cup vegetable oil 3 eggs beaten 50 ml 1/4 cup skim milk 5 ml 1 tsp vanilla PREPARATION 1. In large bowl mix together crushed cereal, sugar, flour, cocoa, salt and pecans. Add oil, eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix just until combined. Spread evenly in 33 x 23 cm (13 x 9-inch) baking pan. 2. Bake at 180 C (350 F) about 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in centre comes out clean. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely on wire rack before cutting into squares. Recipe Card CHERRY COCONUT MUNCH BARS Preparation time: 20 Minutes INGREDIENTS 50 ml 1/4 cup margarine or butter 1 pkg 250 g regular marshmallows (about 40) or 5 cups miniature 1.25 L 5 cups KELLOGG S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal 250 ml 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut 125 ml 1/2 cup peanuts, coarsely chopped 125 ml 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, well-drained and chopped PREPARATION 1. In large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine. Add marshmallows; stir until melted and well blended. Remove from heat. 2. Gradually mix in cereal, coconut, peanuts and cherries, stirring until thoroughly coated. 3. Press firmly and evenly into buttered 2 L ( 9" ) square pan. Chill until set, about 30 minutes. Recipe Card KITES Preparation time: 20 Minutes INGREDIENTS 50 ml 1/4 cup margarine or butter 250 g 1 pkg (about 40) regular marshmallows or 5 cups miniature 2 ml 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional) 1.5 L 6 cups KELLOGG S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal Prepared frosting fruit flavoured candy strips Candy sprinkles, String licorice PREPARATION - Regular Method 1. In large microwave safe bowl, melt margarine and marshmallows on HIGH for about 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute. Stir mixture until smooth. 2. Stir in vanilla. Add KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal, stirring until well coated. Spread cereal mixture into a buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9") pan. Allow to cool. Cut into kite shapes. 3. Decorate kites with frosting and candy sprinkles. Use string licorice for tails and fruit flavoured candy strips as ribbons. PREPARATION - Stove Top Method 1. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Recipe Card ROUNDS WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS Preparation time: 10 Minutes INGREDIENTS 50 ml 1/4 cup margarine or butter 1 pkg 1 pkg 250 g (about 40) regular marshmallows or 5 cups miniature marshmallows 2 ml 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional) 1.5 L 6 cups KELLOGG S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal 250 ml 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips PREPARATION 1. In large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine. Add marshmallows; stir until melted and well blended. Remove from heat. 2. Stir in vanilla. Add cereal, stirring until coated. Add chocolate chips, stirring until thoroughly coated. 3. Using lightly-buttered spatula, press into buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9") pan. Cool. FOLD GLUE OR TAPE Tent Card FOLD PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE FOLD INSTRUCTIONS 1. Using scissors cut around the outside edges. 2. Fold along the dotted lines. 3. Using glue, secure the shortest side to the inside of the back panel. 4. For best results mount or print on card stock.

Using a craft knife carefully cut out the picture frame by slicing along the 1. outside lines. 2. A ruler pressed against the lines will help to keep your cuts straight. 3. Cut out the picture window. 4. Fold the picture frame along the middle line. 5. Cut little slits in the back of the picture frame. Use the lines as a guide. 6. Slide your favourite Bake Sale picture into the frame tucking the picture 1. corners into the slits to secure. 7. For best results mount or print on card stock.
