1 10 ways to make Harry Potter Butterbeer Butterbeer. It warms you up, tastes great, and gives you a frothy moustache! Butterbeer is the drink of choice at The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmead whenever Harry Potter, Hermione, or Ron gets to take a break from Hogwarts. You can now take butterbeer home with you! Now you can enjoy this Harry Potter drink whenever or wherever you want. It is especially enjoyable at a Harry Potter party with the little ones. They are sure to be a hit with the kids, while watching the Harry Potter movies together, reading the Harry Potter books together, or at your Harry Potter role-playing parties. Below are ten uniquely different versions on the butterbeer recipes. Some are sweeter. Some have soda for a thinner watery texture. Some are mostly milk for a thicker, creamier texture. Some are made with ice cream, making them floats. And some contain alcohol, making them adults-only. You want any kind of butterbeer, we got em! Try one or try all of the recipes to see which you or your kids prefer. Some kids might not like the more milk-based versions but might prefer the soda-based recipes. On with the butterbeer recipes! They are sub-divided by ease of preparation due to number of ingredients or steps to complete. EASY RECIPES Recipe #1 It cannot get any simpler than this! 8oz ginger ale or cream soda 2-3 tablespoons of butterscotch syrup 1. Mix in a tall glass and serve over ice Recipe #2 This one's mostly like Recipe #1 with the addition of butter. 1 cup club soda or cream soda 1/2 cup butterscotch syrup 1/2 tablespoon butter 1. Measure butterscotch and butter into a 16 oz. glass
2 2. Microwave on high for seconds, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely melted 3. Stir and cool for 30 seconds 4. Slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit 5: Serve Recipe #3 Similar to Recipe #1 but without the butterscotch flavor. Not sure how good this one will taste. 1 can of root beer OR cream soda 1 tablespoon of honey 2 teaspoons of butter 1. Place soda into a microwave safe glass and heat in microwave for about 30 seconds 2. Remove soda and set aside 3. Place butter into microwave long enough to melt it 4. Add your soda, melted butter, and honey to the blender and blend for 5-10 seconds 5. Serve SLIGHTLY MORE COMPLEX RECIPES Recipe #4 This one is not that difficult but a little more work. It is more of a flavored non-chocolate cocoa. 2 1/2 cups of milk 2 tablespoons of brown sugar 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1 teaspoon of butter or 2 1/2 cups of milk 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips
3 1. Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium-high heat 2. Add the rest of the ingredients 3. Blend with a mixer to make it frothy 3. Bring the mixture almost to boiling 4. Serve Recipe #5 2/3 cup Milk 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon water marshmallows butter optional: cinnamon 1. Put the sugar and water in a pan over high heat and stir with a wooden spoon 2. Stop stirring once bubbles start to form and the sugar has melted and caramelized 3. Once it begins to brown, shake the pan so it cooks and browns evenly 3. As soon as it removed from the heat, pour all the milk in at once (caramel will harden due to the addition of the milk, but it will gradually mix in) 4. Put the pan back on medium heat, and stir until small bubbles are forming and the milk is barely at a simmer. 5. Pour it into a mug, top with butter and marshmallows, 6. Stir well before drinking (add optional cinnamon) 7. Serve
4 Recipe #6 4 tablespoon butter 1/4 cup sugar 2 cup warm milk 1 scant tablespoon vanilla Pinch salt 1. Heat butter in saucepan and melt, stirring until butter bubbles 2. Add sugar and stir slowly over medium heat until medium brown in color 3. Heat milk in microwave and pour into blender 4. Blend on low and slowly add sugar mixture 5. Add vanilla and salt 6. Blend until completely mixed 7. Serve COMPLEX RECIPES Recipe #7 This one has quite a bit of ingredients but not too difficult a process. 1 1/2 cups milk 2 teaspoons honey 1 tablespoon butter 1 teaspoon cinnamon 2 teaspoons sugar 2 teaspoons hot chocolate powder 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 ounce butterscotch syrup 1. Melt butter and honey together 2. Add milk, sugar, vanilla, and butterscotch syrup
5 3. Microwave or heat on stovetop until warm 4. Mix in hot chocolate powder and cinnamon 5. Serve Recipe #8 Basically, this is a butterscotch root beer float. 1 quart butter brickle or vanilla ice cream 1/4 cup butterscotch syrup 32 oz root beer Optional: whipped cream and chopped nuts 1. Place 4 (16-ounce) glasses in freezer and chill for at least 20 minutes 2. Mix ice cream and root beer in a blender until combined 3. Divide between the frosted glasses 4. Top each glass with whipped cream and nuts, if desired 5. Serve with spoons and straws Recipe #9 The most complex recipe on this list. I am not sure how well the sparkling apple cider will taste though. 1 pint of vanilla ice cream, softened 1/2 stick (4 tablespoons) butter, at room temperature 1/3 cup light brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1 bottle (3 cups) sparkling apple cider 1. Allow ice cream to soften, about 30 minutes, and bring butter to room temperature, about 2 hours
6 2. Blend butter, sugar, and spices in large bowl 3. Add to ice cream and freeze 4. Heat sparkling cider in a pot until warm but still carbonated (at least 3 minutes) 5. Fill each glass with a scoop of ice cream mixture and pour warmed cider over ice cream 6. Serves
