2 Introduction Welcome to Porter & Rye. Our drinks have been meticulously crafted in order to work in harmony with the food being prepared by our chefs. Inside you will find six signature cocktails which are completely unique to us. We have also provided some of our preferred recipes for Manhattans and Sazeracs. Our extensive range of beers are all served in schooners, and we have highlighted a handful of suggested pairings to help you select your preferred Boilermaker. The creations contained within are merely reflections of our taste, we will happily cater to yours upon request.

What we know for certain is that it s old, the first confirmed reference to the drink comes from 1882, and describes the drink as a mix of Whiskey, Vermouth and Bitters. Since then, there have been endless variations and twists, we have done our best to do the drink justice in this list. 5 Sazeracs The Sazerac originates from mid 1800 s New Orleans, where Sewell T. Taylor sold his bar and imported a Cognac called Sazerac-de-forge et Fils. The new proprietor of his bar teamed up with local apothecary Antoine Amedie Peychaud to create a cocktail using his bitters and the imported Cognac. When Phylloxera wiped out Cognac production, Rye Whiskey became the substitute.
