Decor Thermoglass dishes Thermoglass tempered glass dishes are specially designed for use in conventional ovens and microwaves and to cook, serve, store and reheat your meals. Three sizes are available: 2.0 litre, 1.0 litre and 540 ml. They come with a range of features: Thermoglass is tempered to make it strong and oven-safe. The rounded square shape ensures efficient, even cooking. The continuous edge allows safe, easy lifting. Thermoglass won t absorb flavours or stains. When not in use, the three Thermoglass dishes and Microsafe lids nest together to save space. Here s a handy tip: the 540 ml Thermoglass dish and Microsafe lid are ideal for taking lunches to work for microwave reheating. Decor Microsafe lids The Microsafe lids allow use of the Thermoglass dishes in the microwave for cooking and quick reheating (note the lids are not to be used in conventional or toaster ovens). The Microsafe lids also allow meals prepared in the Thermoglass dishes to be stored in the fridge and freezer. Before refrigerating or freezing, allow the Thermoglass dish to cool. Steam release vent Before microwaving, put the Microsafe lid on the Thermoglass dish and click the vent open to release steam during cooking. After removing the Thermoglass dish from the microwave, leave the vent open while the food is very hot to allow it to rest. For storage in the fridge and freezer, allow the food to cool then close the vent. Decor silicone trivet Always use the silicone trivet for resting hot Thermoglass dishes on the bench or table to prevent damage. Decor Microsafe jug The Microsafe jug is handy for quickly preparing recipe ingredients, such as sauces and custards, for cooking or complementing meals prepared in the Thermoglass dishes. Note: The Microsafe jug is not included in the Value Offer set but is available separately. Very important: Before use, please read the usage and safety guidelines on pages 18 and

Simple and delicious recipes I really love these Decor Thermoglass tempered glass dishes. They are easy to handle and have a nicely rounded square shape so food cooks evenly in your oven or microwave. They also have a nice solid feel and all the qualities of pure glass. The Microsafe lids add so much versatility because you can use the Thermoglass dishes in the microwave for cooking and reheating and you can store prepared meals or leftovers in the fridge or freezer. I hope you enjoy these recipes that I have especially created for the Thermoglass dishes they give you an interesting choice of simple, delicious meals. Beverley Sutherland Smith Noted food teacher and author of 27 best-selling cookbooks Approximate preparation and cooking times for each recipe are provided; however, these should be regarded as guidelines only. Actual times will depend on the type of oven or microwave and the quality of individual ingredients. Preparation time 15 minutes. Cooking time about 25 minutes. We used the 1 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, a mixing bowl and Decor trivet. 250 grams chicken sausages (about 3) 2 eggs 2 spring onions, finely chopped 1 small grated carrot 2 tablespoons sweet Thai chilli sauce 1 tablespoon light soy sauce 2 teaspoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon cornflour 1 cup cooked rice Slit the sausages along the skin and discard skin. Put sausages into a bowl and mash a little to break them into pieces. Add eggs, spring onion and carrot and mix well (easiest with your hands). Season with chilli and soy and add brown sugar and cornflour. Add rice and mix again. Sausages are usually quite salted so you should not need to add any extra salt. Put all into the Thermoglass dish and cover with baking paper. Bake in a moderate oven for about 25 minutes. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Let rest for 5 minutes. Remove the paper and let cool. Cover securely with the Microsafe lid, steam vent closed. Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. To reheat Click open steam vent on the Microsafe lid and microwave on high until warmed through. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Note: For a work lunch, spoon portion into a 540 ml Thermoglass dish and cover with Microsafe lid for reheating in microwave. Before reheating, click open steam vent. 4 5

Lamb Stew with Vegetables Serves 4. Preparation time 20 minutes. Cooking time about 45 minutes. We used the 2 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, a saucepan and Decor trivet. 500 grams diced lamb, fat removed 2 tablespoons plain flour 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 onion, roughly diced 2 cloves garlic, diced 2 cups chicken stock 1 tablespoon tomato paste 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 1 thinly sliced carrot 1 thinly sliced parsnip 1 stalk celery, finely sliced 1 cup frozen peas 3 tablespoons chopped parsley Toss the lamb in flour until lightly coated. Heat oil in a saucepan and cook the onion and garlic until softened. Turn up the heat and add the lamb, stirring until it is coloured and separating so the pieces are not sticking together. Pour in stock. Add tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce and stir in the sticky glaze that will have formed on the base of the pan. When it has come to a boil, cover. Cook gently for about 20 minutes, giving it an occasional stir until the lamb is tender. If there is too much juice, cook for 5 minutes (uncovered) to reduce it. How long the lamb takes depends on the cut of lamb you have used. Let cool. Mix in vegetables and spoon into the Thermoglass dish. Cover securely with the Microsafe lid, steam vent open. Cook on high in the microwave for about 12 minutes until piping hot and vegetables are tender. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet to cool. Store refrigerated with lid on, steam vent closed. Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. Reheat as much as needed at a time. To reheat Click open steam vent on the Microsafe lid and microwave on high until piping hot. Or remove Microsafe lid and reheat in a moderate oven (180 C) for about 12 minutes until hot through. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Note: For a work lunch, spoon portion into a 540 ml Thermoglass dish and cover with Microsafe lid for reheating in microwave. Before reheating, click open steam vent. 6 7

Pasta with Cheese and Ham Sauce Serves 2. Preparation time 15 minutes. Cooking time about 15 minutes. We used the 1 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, 2 saucepans and Decor trivet. 200 grams small pasta such as macaroni 30 grams butter 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 onion, finely chopped 100 grams ham, diced 2 tablespoons plain flour 2 cups milk 1¼ cups grated tasty (or melting type) cheese Cook the pasta in plenty of salted boiling water in a saucepan until just tender. Drain. While the pasta is cooking, melt butter and oil in a saucepan and gently fry the onion until softened. Add ham and stir to coat. Scatter flour on top and fry, stirring for a few minutes. Pour in milk and stir until it comes to a boil and is lightly thickened. Turn the heat low and let cook for about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat. Add the pasta and ¾ of the cheese. Stir well. Spoon into the Thermoglass dish and scatter the remaining cheese on top. Let cool. Cover securely with the Microsafe lid, steam vent closed. Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. Reheat as needed and serve. To reheat Click open steam vent on the Microsafe lid and microwave on high until piping hot. Or remove Microsafe lid and reheat in a moderate oven (180 C) for about 12 minutes until hot through and golden brown on top. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Note: For a work lunch, spoon portion into a 540 ml Thermoglass dish and cover with Microsafe lid for reheating in microwave. Before reheating, click open steam vent. Optional extra garnishing Before reheating, scatter the top with 8 halved cherry tomatoes and an additional ½ cup grated tasty cheese. Before serving, scatter with 2 tablespoons roughly chopped parsley. 8 9

Cauliflower Cheese Serves 2. Preparation time 8 minutes. Cooking time: cauliflower 3 minutes; cheese sauce (microwave) about 7 minutes; cheese sauce (oven) about 25 minutes. We used the 1 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, Microsafe jug (or saucepan) and Decor trivet. ½ small cauliflower, broken into florets 60 grams butter 2½ tablespoons plain flour 2 cups milk 1½ cups grated cheddar cheese salt and pepper to taste some breadcrumbs made from stale bread (use only if baking cauliflower) Put the cauliflower florets into the Thermoglass dish with sufficient water to cover the base. Cover with the Microsafe lid, steam vent open. Microwave on high for 3 minutes or until just tender when pierced with the point of a knife. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Leave for 5 minutes while making the sauce. Drain away the excess water. Cheese sauce microwave method Put butter into the Microsafe jug and microwave uncovered on high until melted (about 45 seconds). Mix in flour and stir until a smooth paste. Return to microwave for 1 minute. Stir well. Add milk, slowly whisking in until smooth. Season. Put lid on Microsafe jug with pourer open. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, or until thickened, whisking twice through the pourer. Remove from microwave. Add ¾ cup cheese. Stir until melted. Spoon over cauliflower in the Thermoglass dish and scatter with remaining cheese. Cheese sauce saucepan method Melt butter in a small saucepan. When bubbling, add flour and cook, stirring for a minute or two. Add milk and whisk the sauce until it has come to the boil and is lightly thickened. Turn down the heat and cook for a couple of minutes; it will thicken more. Remove from the heat. Add ¾ of the cheese and stir through. Season. Spoon over the top of the cauliflower in the Thermoglass dish. Scatter on the remaining cheese and then sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake uncovered in a moderate oven (180 C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden on top and bubbling on the edges. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet

Apple and Raspberry Crumble Serves 4. Preparation time 5 minutes. Cooking time 15 to 20 minutes. We used the 1 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, a mixing bowl, saucepan and Decor trivet. 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced 1 cup frozen raspberries 1 tablespoon lemon juice ½ cup sugar Crumble topping 1 cup rolled oats ¼ cup dark brown sugar ¼ cup desiccated coconut 2 tablespoons dried currants 90 grams butter cut into small pieces Butter the Thermoglass dish (so the crumble does not stick to the sides). Mix the apples, raspberries, lemon juice and sugar together in the Thermoglass dish and cover securely with the Microsafe lid, steam vent open. Microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes or until the apple is tender. In a mixing bowl, mix oats with sugar and coconut. Melt butter in a small saucepan and add to oats mixture. Add currants and stir with a fork. Dot over the top of the fruit in the Thermoglass dish and bake uncovered in a moderate oven (180 C) for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden on top and bubbling on the edges. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Let sit for a few minutes for the juices to settle before serving with rich custard (see Microsafe desserts recipes on the Decor website Add ice cream if desired

Easy Fruit Bread and Butter Pudding Serves 4 to 6. Preparation time 12 minutes. Cooking time about 30 minutes. As the fruit is already in the bread you do not need to add any extra to this pudding. We used the 2 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, a mixing bowl, saucepan, sieve and Decor trivet. 8 medium-thick slices good-quality fruit loaf 75 grams soft butter 1 teaspoon grated orange rind ¹ ³ cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1 egg yolk 1½ cups milk 1 cup cream 1 teaspoon vanilla essence pinch cinnamon 2 tablespoons sugar If the crust of the fruit loaf is thick remove it, otherwise leave it on. In a mixing bowl, mix butter with orange rind. Butter one side of each slice of the fruit loaf and cut into halves. Place slices in the Thermoglass dish in layers, overlapping slightly. In the mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and egg yolk gently with brown sugar. Heat the milk and cream in a saucepan until warm. Remove from the heat and pour over the egg slowly, stirring as you go. Mix in vanilla and cinnamon. Pour through a sieve over the top of the bread, making sure it covers the bread. Press down gently into the liquid. Scatter on the sugar. Put uncovered into a barely moderate oven (170 C) for about 25 minutes or until it is just set in the centre. It will continue to cook a little when removed from the oven. If too wet in the middle, cook 5 or 10 minutes longer. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Let sit for 10 minutes. Serve immediately with vanilla ice cream or store in the refrigerator with Microsafe lid on, steam vent closed. Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. To reheat Click open steam vent on the Microsafe lid and microwave on high until warmed through. Or remove Microsafe lid and reheat in a barely moderate oven (170 C) for 12 to 15 minutes until warmed through. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet

Lemon Poached Apples (or Pears) Serves 4. Preparation time 8 minutes. Cooking time 7 minutes. We used the 2 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid and Decor trivet. 6 eating or cooking apples (or pears), peeled, cored and sliced juice 1 large lemon ½ cup sugar ½ cup water Place the fruit in the Thermoglass dish, add remaining ingredients and stir so the fruit is coated. Cover securely with the Microsafe lid, steam vent open. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Remove Microsafe lid, stir fruit and check for tenderness. Replace Microsafe lid, with steam vent open. Microwave again for 2 minutes or until soft. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Let cool. Store in the Thermoglass dish with the Microsafe lid on, steam vent closed. Serve. Apple (or Pear) Pudding Serves 6. Preparation time 10 minutes. Cooking time about 30 minutes. We used the 2 litre Thermoglass dish, Microsafe lid, a saucepan, mixing bowl and Decor trivet. 1 quantity of Lemon Poached Apples (or Pears) Put the poached fruit in the Thermoglass dish and cover securely with the Microsafe lid, steam vent open. Warm in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet while making up the pudding mix. Or: Put the poached fruit into the Thermoglass dish and pre-cook uncovered in a moderate oven (180 C) for 5 minutes. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet while making up the pudding mix. This pre-cooking will allow the fruit to cook more evenly in the pudding than if taken directly from the refrigerator. Pudding mix 60 grams butter, cut into small pieces ¾ cup sugar 2 eggs ½ cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup self-raising flour Melt butter in a saucepan. Put sugar into a mixing bowl, pour butter over and stir to moisten. Add eggs, milk and vanilla and mix. Sift flour over the top and stir well. Spoon over the poached fruit in the Thermoglass dish. Bake uncovered in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. There should be no liquid when the pudding batter is pierced in the centre with a skewer. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet. Serve with rich custard (see Microsafe desserts recipes on the Decor website Add ice cream if desired. Any leftovers can be stored in the Thermoglass dish in the refrigerator with the Microsafe lid on, steam vent closed. Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. To reheat Click open steam vent on the Microsafe lid and microwave on high until warm. Rest hot Thermoglass dish on Decor trivet
