3 taste a piece of chocolate history T T Rogers Chocolates was founded in 1885 by Charles W. (Candy) Rogers. With his wife, Leah, Charles developed chocolate recipes that made his small shop in Victoria a favourite stop for travellers from all over the world. Faithful to his legacy, over the years we have maintained Charles commitment to the use of the finest quality natural ingredients in all of his time-honoured recipes. 4 a new look You will notice that we have a new look & feel for our Victoria Creams, Almond Brittles, and Empress Squares. Why the change? Our new packaging is now more sustainable and resource friendly as it reduces the amount of material used (by over 50%) and energy consumed to protect these products. Our new packaging achieves a higher standard of food safety. It offers tighter and tamper-evident seals that improve our control over moisture, oils and oxygen migration. Our new packaging is more efficient, freeing up resources and allowing us to continue to support Fair Trade Certified TM Cocoa initiatives including fairer wages for farmers, support for community programs and improved environmental practices. Finally, the improved efficiencies allow us to continue to invest in our local communities by supporting our employees, charitable organizations and green initiatives such as the elimination of plastic bags in our retail stores. We believe that this is change for the good. Good for our farmers, good for our employees, good for our communities and good for our environment. SHAKESPEARE) on the right side of the street. Today, the building is designated a heritage site and remains our home. Charles Rogers and his wife Leah, gave the City of Victoria many wonderful gifts, including our 913 Government Street store and of course, our world famous, hand-wrapped chocolates.
