2 new year New you It is time to start fresh with a new goal and a new year. Marking the end of a year and the successes and challenges that came with it and moving to a clean slate with a new goal is the best way to motivate a year of success. End 2017 as the best you with your eye on the prize and ready to make 2018 your year! We have created a delicious selection of tasty recipes (perfect for entertaining) and tips that will keep you on track as you celebrate the close of 2017, and get you ready to start the New Year in style. 3 to start your year A New Year is the perfect time to evaluate your goals and plan ahead for the next 12 months. It is also the ideal time to start new activities and foster new positive habits that will help you maximise your year and strive for your goal. Here are some great tips to ensure you get the most out the next 12 months, and make it your year. Make yourself a priority We often spend more time making sure our friends, family and colleagues are happy and cared for and we forget to look after ourselves. It is important to look after yourself and take time out to care for yourself. Get organised and plan ahead We all know life feels easier and less stressful when you re organised. Being organised can even help you to stay on track with your goals. By taking the time to not only plan your week ahead but also track your results you can influence healthy behaviour changes, as well as increase your satisfaction levels and a sense of achievement. Here are some easy tips to help you organise your way to a happier and healthier Focus on the positives It is easy to establish a negative habit by focusing on our failures and mistakes. But by simply taking a second to identify those negative thoughts and banishing them with a positive idea or thought, you will start to build a new healthier mindset, focused on the good. Don t be afraid to ask for help It s ok to ask for help. We often forget to ask for help and become overwhelmed by life, so whether it is starting a weight loss journey or as simple as completing a task at work, if you need a little support just ask for it, you may be surprised with how eager people are to assist. Be brave and try something new Challenge yourself and try something new. Whether it is as simple as tasting a new fruit, or signing up to learn a language, it is important to challenge yourself and really see the amazing things you can achieve. Be the best you Take the time to picture where and who you want to be at the end of the year, and make an effort every day to work towards being that person. Don t let the past dictate your future It s easy to let past mistakes and failures affect our decisions and our belief in what we can achieve. Stop letting the past determine what you can do and take a chance, it might not work out but imagine if it does. Set yourself a goal - Set yourself a series of short and long term goals that you wish to achieve. They can be as simple as going for a short walk every afternoon or drinking more water; or more long term like losing 10kg or completing a fun run/walk. It s important to celebrate your achievements with rewards things like a new book or a massage are great incentives. Get started planning your year on page 4 with our 2018 Goal Planner. Create positive new routines and habits It s easy to get stuck in our habits and negative routines, so let the New Year be the perfect excuse to shake it up and start new healthier habits. By breaking down your long term goals into small achievable milestones and rewarding your success along the way you will stay focused. With the New Year nearly here, begin 2018 with a clear plan and mark out what you want to achieve and more importantly how you want to feel! We know you can do it! What is your goal? 5 Dip 1 Roasted Sweet Capsicum Dip Serves 1 INGREDIENTS 1 red capsicum 1 red onion, cut in half with skins attached 1 carrot, cut into 4 pieces 1 clove garlic, skin on Spray oil Pepper ½ tsp coriander powder 1 tsp balsamic vinegar METHOD New Year s platter Preheat oven to 200 C. Place capsicum, onion, carrot and garlic on to a lined oven tray. Spray with oil and season with pepper and coriander powder. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes until capsicum skin is slightly blackened and capsicum is soft. Transfer the capsicum to a bowl and cover with cling film. Set aside for 10 minutes until the capsicum has cooled. Peel and discard the skins from the onion and garlic. Remove and discard the capsicum skin. Open up the capsicum to remove and discard the seeds. Serve With Me Process the capsicum, onion, carrot, garlic and balsamic vinegar together in a food processor until smooth. Enjoy! 6 Dip 2 Moroccan Carrot Dip Serves 1 INGREDIENTS METHOD Preheat oven to 180 C. New Year s platter 4 medium carrots, cut into rounds Spray oil 1 tbsp Moroccan seasoning 1/ 3 cup plain fat free yoghurt Pepper Place carrots in a microwave safe bowl with a splash of water, cover with cling wrap and microwave for 3 minutes until soft. Place carrots onto a lined baking tray and spray with oil. Sprinkle with Moroccan seasoning and roast in the oven for minutes or until carrots are lightly golden. Process carrots in a food processor until smooth. Add yoghurt and mix to combine. Serve With Me Allow to cool slightly. Enjoy! Want more dip inspo? 7 NORI WRAPS WITH TERIYAKI MAYO & SRIRACHA Serves 2 INGREDIENTS METHOD 2 sheets nori seaweed 1 tbsp fat free mayonnaise 2 tsp Teriyaki sauce 1 small carrot, shredded 1 small cucumber, cut into matchsticks ¼ red capsicum, cut into matchsticks ½ cup red cabbage, finely shredded Sriracha or regular chilli sauce for drizzling (optional) Cut each sheet of nori into 4 (total 8 pieces) and arrange pieces on a board. Serve With Me Mix together mayonnaise and Teriyaki sauce to make the teriyaki mayo. To arrange nori wraps, spread a small amount of teriyaki mayo on eat piece of nori. Arrange a small amount of carrot, cucumber, capsicum and red cabbage on top. Drizzle with a small amount of Sriracha (or any chilli paste) and carefully wrap up the nori sheet into a cone shape. Enjoy! Grocery Count (per serve): 2 Limited Free Foods 7

8 Mosco Mule Serves 1 INGREDIENTS Ice 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves 1 cup diet ginger beer ½ lime, cut into wedges METHOD Fill a glass with ice. Tear the mint leaves before adding to glass and top with ginger beer. Squeeze in the fresh lime and garnish with extra mint and lime wedges. Enjoy! Grocery Count (per serve): 1 Limited Free Food 8

9 ROSIE BLUE Serves 1 INGREDIENTS ¼ tsp natural sweetener (such as Stevia) 1 tsp lemon juice 1 sprig of rosemary Ice ¼ cup blueberries, halved 1 cup sparkling mineral water METHOD Mix the natural sweetener and lemon juice together until dissolved. Top with rosemary, ice, blueberries and sparkling mineral water. Stir to combine. Enjoy! Grocery Count (per serve): ½ Limited Free Food 9
