Provides free meals to children through sponsored meal sites primarily serving or operating in low-income communities Like.. is a federally funded program administered through State agencies Provides reimbursements to sponsors for providing nutritious meals to children 18 years and younger Bonus. Operates when school is not in session Provides all meals to children at no cost Sponsors are funded at the highest reimbursement rate - FREE
3 Why do we need the? Over 21 million children qualify for free and reduced priced meals Only 1 and 6 children received meals in the summer that s less than 4 million children. Millions of children may go hungry this summer. Hunger does not discriminate.
4 Where can a Summer Meal site be located? At-risk locations are excellent summer meal sites Faith-based Organizations Childcare Centers Outdoors Parks, Playgrounds, Parking lots, Pools.. Apartment Buildings Multipurpose Room, Courtyard Community Centers Sites can be located almost anywhere there is a need.

11 The breakdown June 19 August 11 (9 weeks) Monday Friday 9 am 4pm Before & Aftercare available Breakfast and Lunch included Camp Sunshine is in a well populated area of the city. It is located near a very large playground. There are lots of children living near by that play in the park. Camp Sunshine hired additional staff and plans to enroll 100 children to participate in their all-day summer camp. They planned a cycle menu and will work with local farmers market to purchase fresh produce to help keep food cost consistent.
