This Week's Turkey Feature Highlights As Easter and Passover are about a week away, we see a sharp increase in turkey feature activity as retailers break whole bird ads targeting this time of the year. Offerings of fresh and frozen bone-in breasts show a substantial increase. Prices are slightly higher for frozen. Rotisserie breast offers are limited, as well a very light showing of cutlets. Dark parts are easier to find; values are mixed for the fresh variety. Grind activity increases some with 85% lean garnering the most attention. Conventional patties, 93% lean, and ground breast are better valued. Deli activity gains momentum due to an increase of promotions centering on self-service items which are usually seen at lower price levels. All report information gathered from publicly available sources including store circulars, newspaper ads, and retailer websites.
