5 SPECIALS AND EVENTS SEPTEMBER CIGAR OF THE MONTH LA AURORA 107 ROBUSTO La Aurora is the oldest factory in the Dominican and has been producing great cigars for 100+ years. This medium to full bodied smoke blends Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, inside a dark Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper. The wrapper imparts nice spice into the smoke while the fillers add some cedar and earth notes. A nice flavorful cigar at an outstanding price. $8 SPIRIT SPECIALS AVION 44 $27 We feature our favorite tequila every few months, so why not again? 44 is an extra añejo, aged 43 months in 200 liter oak casks, then an extra month in 20 liter barrels. The small barrels are turned daily to impart color and aromatics into this extraordinary tequila. Vanilla and toffee are prevalent throughout. PINHOOK BOURBON COUNTRY (2018) $9 Each fall Pinhook releases a limited amount of whiskey named after a young Kentucky thoroughbred. This bourbon is 75% corn, 20.5% rye and 4.5% malted barley. Pear and apricot notes are apparent early, while toffee and vanilla come through on the palate. Well balanced young bourbon. PINHOOK BOURBON N RYE (2017) $9 Don t let the name fool you, this is straight rye whiskey. A stout mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley give this dram a fresh appearance. Apples and cinnamon upon entry followed by dried fruit, sweetness and then the rye spice. A nice representation of good rye.
