Ideas for Games and Activities If you are looking to add a little something to your E-Tea event, here's some ideas for entertaining and raising more funds! Tea Bag Toss Set up tea cups or a teapot at the end of a table. Give players or teams 5 teabags (dry and unused otherwise is gets messy!) each and have them try to toss each bag into the teacups.the player or team with the most teabags in the cups or pot at the end wins a prize! Guess the beans Fill a jar with coffee beans and have your guests take a guess at how many beans are in the jar (make sure you have counted them so you know who wins!). Guests can donate to make a guess - the closer guess wins a prize (and the jar of beans!) Tea leaf pictionary Cut open some cheap teabags and place the leaves onto a tray for each team. Divide guests into teams and have a player from each team choose a piece of paper with a word on it. They must then form this word with the loose tea leaves for their team to guess. Award points for each correct guess and the team with the most points at the end wins. Raffle Source or bring a prize and this is an easy way to encourage donations - gold coin per ticket! Sniff and brew For this game you will need an assortment of different teas - this could be leaves or tea bags. Place each different type of tea on a plate and have guests smell each plate and see if they can guess what type of tea it is. You could also do this as a taste test with brewed tea! Pin the lid on the teapot Use our template to print out a teapot and lids. Each player is then blindfolded and given a lid to try to stick where they think Contact local businesses to see if they are willing to the lid should go - the closest lid sponsor your E-Tea or donate prizes. on the teapot wins!
Bake off Ask your guests to bring their own baked goods with them - have them set up on a separate table and your other guests can vote by donating a coin for their favourite item. The item with the most coins wins! At the end you can even auction the winning baked goods off! Cupcake decorating Great for kids and adults alike! Provide people with a plain cupcake and some supplies for decorating. Each guests makes a small donation for their cake and creates their own personal masterpiece. You can even give prizes for most creative! Cup relay This one is best for outdoor events! Divide your guests into teams, and give each team a cup and a bucket of water, then place a teapot (or empty bucket) a few metres away. One at a time each player fills their cup from the bucket and carries the full cup above their head to the teapot (or empty bucket) at the other end, puts the water into the teapot and returns to their team for the next player to go. The team that fills their teapot (or bucket) first is the winner! Tea Trivia Grab our trivia sheet with the questions and have your guests compete individually or as a team. The team with the most correct answers wins a prize! Colouring Competition A nice way to keep the kids busy throughout your event! Download our colouring pages and provide some pencils or textas for the kids to colour in. You could award prizes for the best or most creative pieces, or ask for a coin donation to enter.
Tea treasure hunt Take some individually wrapped tea bags and hide them around your E-Tea event, or outside, or in another room before guests arrive. You could get different varieties of tea in different colours, or just use one type. Kids (or big kids) then have to find them all - you can have them work in teams or individually. Perhaps to find a certain type of tea or a number of tea bags. The first team or individual to find them wins, or each found tea bags can be exchanged for a treat! Happy hunting! Craft corner Great for kids and adults alike! Download a copy of our 'Decorate a cup' or 'Decorate a teapot' sheets for your guests. You can provide them with colouring pencils or crayons, or you might like to add in some other items like tape, sequins, glitter, tissue paper, anything you like! You can choose a winner for most creative or most colourful and award a prize to the designer! Tea tray memory game Take a tray and put tea related items on it - perhaps a tea bag, cup, strainer, a biscuit, a napkin, etc. Cover the tray up before guests arrive. When you are ready to play have all your guests gather around the tray, and then remove the cover. Allow guests to study the tray for seconds. Then cover the tray again and hand out paper and pens. Each guest then writes down as many items as they remember. The guest who remembers them all is the winner! Cake Roulette This can be used with round or square cakes, or even with cupcakes and other treats. Simply download our templates and choose the right size for your item(s). Guests then make a generous donation (minimum gold coin) and choose their treat or slice of cake then they get to see the fact, prize or challenge that is under their item. It's delicious and fun for everyone!
Teapots or spoons A tea-themed version of Heads or Tails! Each guest pays a gold coin to play and stands up. For this version heads on the coin is represented by spoon and tails on the coin is teapot. Before each flip of the coin all players must choose whether they will be a teapot or a spoon and make that position. Teapot position is one arm bent with hand on hip and the other out to the side as a spout, spoon is both arms in a circle around your head. When the coin is flipped those in the winning position stay in the game, those not are out and sit down. Rounds keep going until there is a winner! The kettle boils for... This is a great game to use as an icebreaker and involves some movement. Arrange chairs to form a circle with all chairs facing the middle. One player starts in the middle standing up while all other players are seated on a chair. They start the first round by saying "The kettle boils for everyone who..." then a characteristic true about them eg. "The kettle boils for everyone who loves chocolate" All players for whom this statement is true must stand up and find a new seat, the player in the middle must also find a chair. Whoever does not find a vacant seat is the new person in the middle. Likes and dislikes Give each guests 2 pieces of paper (different colours is helpful if you can). Each guest writes their favourite tea party treat on one piece of paper and the one the dislike on the other. Collect up all the answers and read them out one at a time. Each guest tries to guess who wrote which answer. Bean pick up Give each guest a pair of chopsticks and a small bowl. Empty a bag of coffee beans or jelly beans onto the table. Set a timer and see how many beans each guest can get into their bowl using only their chopsticks. You could also use straws. The guest with the most beans in their bowl at the end of the time is the winner!
Iced tea flip cup A tea-themed version suitable for the whole family! Divide your guests into two teams with an equal number of players and have each team stand on one side of the table, facing the other team. Place one plastic cup filled with ice tea in front of each player - make sure there is the same amount of iced tea in each! When the game starts the first player in the line must drink the entire beverage, then place the cup face up on the edge of the table and attempt to flip the cup by flicking it to land face down on the table. They continue until the cup is face down. Once they have flipped, the next player in the team goes and the first team to all flip their cups is the winner! What's in the bag? A great guessing game you can tailor for your guests. Take a non-transparent bag and place a number of things in the bag - this could be tea themed like a spoon, a lemon, sugar packet, or any other items. Each guest takes a turn reaching into the bag (without looking) and picks an item and make a guess on what it is before pulling it out. Each player who guesses correctly gets a prize, or a point and the player with the most points at the end wins. You could also play this with a small bag of items for each player and they have to write down what they think all the items in the bag are and the person with the most correct wins! DIY Photobooth Use your creativity to make a backdrop for a photobooth. It can be as simple as a piece of material, or as fun and creative as you like. Set up a camera (even better if someone volunteers to be photographer). Guests can donate a coin to take a photo, or to buy prints after the event! Great way to capture all the fun of your E-Tea event!
