At the heart of the Nespresso system are the unique hermetically sealed capsules to guarantee the coffee s freshness when you make your coffee. Each capsule contains the perfect portion of roasted and ground premium coffee to guarantee perfect espresso every time. This coupled with a unique extraction system specially adapted to capsules is designed to deliver the freshest tastes and aroma s. In 2003 Nespresso set out to create the first AAA grade coffees in the world by incorporating an additional A for sustainability to the AA for quality. AAA Sustainable Quality encapsulates Nespresso s quest to ensure their coffees are produced to the highest standards of quality balancing the creation of social and economic value for farmers and their communities, as well as contributing to the preservation of the environment. The unique extraction system involves a three phase process. The first involves inserting the capsule into the jaw. This is followed by perforation of the capsule by three blades within the jaw. The final phase involves high pressure extraction producing a fantastic cup of coffee with a topping of thick smooth crema.
