4 IMPLEMENTATION Plan your Home for the Holidays promotion, and if necessary, review Home for the Holidays with your client. Decide when and how you will implement Home for the Holidays. Take-home desserts Merchandise cookies and macaroons as holiday gifts and grab and go snacks Offer seasonal desserts in catering Capture off-peak or afternoon hours with a dessert food cart Bundle desserts with entrees Feature French baguettes and dinner rolls with holiday entrees Pre-Order Desserts Download the stocking matrix to determine which products you want to feature and what is available in your distribution center. If a dessert is not available in your area, pre-order to guarantee it! New this year! To guarantee product, it is highly recommended that units pre-order desserts by visiting Pre-ordering is not necessary however, by doing this you will guarantee specific product for your café. By NOT pre-ordering, you may not be guaranteed to get the desserts you want. Fill out the required information and select the desserts, number of cases and receiving date to guarantee your product. Select the marketing collateral and sizes that fit best in your account. Free Dessert Boxes FREE white dessert boxes are available from the Sara Lee website. The FREE dessert boxes may be used to sell other holiday desserts (not Sara Lee products) as long as 1 case of Sara Lee product has been ordered for your account. Advertise Throughout the winter season, advertise with marketing and merchandising. Create enticing dessert displays in visible locations in the café. Create awareness by advertising on your dining website and throughout the café. Samples Sell Feature samples of your dessert offerings to heighten holiday sales. When featuring promotional signage, be sure to clearly display the procedure for ordering desserts along with signage that lists what is for sale. Be sure to include prices and the pick-up date and time so that customers will know when their desserts will be ready.
