MOUNT WAVERLEY SECONDARY COLLEGE ANAPHYLAXIS MANAGEMENT POLICY Munt Waverley Secndary Cllege will fully cmply with Ministerial Order 706 Anaphylaxis Management in Victrian Schls and the assciated Guidelines published and amended by the Department frm time t time 1. BACKGROUND Anaphylaxis is a severe, rapidly prgressive allergic reactin that is ptentially life threatening. The mst cmmn allergens in schl aged children are peanuts, eggs, tree nuts (e.g. cashews), cw s milk, fish and shellfish, wheat, sy, sesame, latex, certain insect stings and medicatin. The key t preventin f anaphylaxis in schls is knwledge f thse students wh have been diagnsed at risk, awareness f triggers (allergens), and preventin f expsure t these triggers. Partnerships between schls and parents are imprtant in ensuring that certain fds r items are kept away frm the student while at schl. Adrenaline given thrugh an EpiPen aut injectr t the muscle f the uter mid thigh is the mst effective first aid treatment fr anaphylaxis. 2. DEFINITIONS Allergen Allergy Allergic Reactin Anaphylaxis A substance that can cause an allergic reactin A dysfunctin f the immune system where by the immune system respnds t a substance and induces a reactin harmful t the bdy. Refers t the clinical changes that ccur when a persn is expsed t a substance that they are allergic t. These changes can affect the skin, intestines, respiratry and cardivascular systems. A severe, rapidly prgressive allergic reactin that is ptentially life threatening. It is a multi-system reactin characterised by ne r mre signs r symptms f respiratry and/r cardivascular invlvement AND invlvement f ther systems such as skin and/r gastrintestinal tract. Adrenaline Aut Injectr An aut injectr device, apprved fr use by the Cmmnwealth Gvernment Therapeutic Gds Administratin, which can be used t administer a single premeasured dse f adrenaline t thse experiencing a severe allergic reactin r anaphylaxis. These may include EpiPen, EpiPen Jr, Anapen 300 r Anapen PURPOSE Munt Waverley Secndary Cllege aims t: have the medical infrmatin fr all students received prir t the start f each Cllege year fr identificatin f students with anaphylaxis prvide as far as practicable, a safe and supprtive envirnment in which students at risk f anaphylaxis can participate equally in all aspects f the student s schling raise awareness abut anaphylaxis and the Cllege s Anaphylaxis Management Plicy in the Cllege cmmunity engage with parents/carers f students at risk f anaphylaxis in assessing risks, develping risk minimisatin strategies and management strategies fr the student ensure each staff member has adequate knwledge abut allergies, anaphylaxis and the Cllege s plicy and prcedures in respnding t an anaphylactic reactin. 1

4. INDIVIDUAL ANAPHYLAXIS MANAGEMENT PLANS The Cllege Principal will ensure that an Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan is develped, in cnsultatin with the student s Parents, fr any student wh has been diagnsed by a Medical Practitiner as being at risk f anaphylaxis. The Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan (Appendix 1) will be in place as sn as practicable after the student enrls, and where pssible befre their first day f schl. The Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan will set ut the fllwing: infrmatin abut the student s medical cnditin that relates t allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin, including the type f allergy/allergies the student has (based n a written diagnsis frm a Medical Practitiner); strategies t minimise the risk f expsure t knwn and ntified allergens while the student is under the care r supervisin f Schl Staff, fr in-schl and ut-f-schl settings including in the schl yard, at camps and excursins, r at special events cnducted, rganised r attended by the Schl; the name f the persn(s) respnsible fr implementing the strategies; infrmatin n where the student's medicatin will be stred; the student's emergency cntact details; and an Australasian Sciety f Clinical Immunlgy and Allergy (ASCIA) Actin Plan. Schl staff will then implement and mnitr the student s Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan. The student s Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan will be reviewed, in cnsultatin with the student s parents in all f the fllwing circumstances: annually; if the student's medical cnditin, insfar as it relates t allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin, changes; as sn as practicable after the student has an anaphylactic reactin at Schl; and when the student is t participate in an ff-site activity, such as camps and excursins, r at special events cnducted, rganised r attended by the Schl (eg. class parties, elective subjects, cultural days, fetes, incursins). It is the respnsibility f parents t: prvide the ASCIA Actin Plan; infrm the schl in writing if their child s medical cnditin, insfar as it relates t allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin, changes and if relevant, prvide an updated ASCIA Actin Plan; prvide an up t date pht fr the ASCIA Actin Plan when that plan is prvided t the schl and when it is reviewed; and prvide the schl with an adrenaline autinjectr that is current and nt expired fr their child. 5. PREVENTION STRATEGIES The schl will put in place preventin strategies (Appendix 2) fr all relevant in-schl and ut-f-schl settings which include (but are nt limited t) the fllwing: during classrm activities (including class rtatins, specialist and elective classes); between classes and ther breaks; in canteens; during recess and lunchtimes; befre and after schl; and special events including incursins, sprts, cultural days, fetes r class parties, excursins and camps. 2

6. SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE The schl will have in place the fllwing management and emergency respnse prcedures, in accrdance with the Anaphylaxis Guidelines A resurce fr managing severe allergies in Victrian schls : a cmplete and up t date list f students identified as having a medical cnditin that relates t allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin; details f Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plans and ASCIA Actin Plans (Appendix 3) and where these will be lcated: in a classrm; in the schl yard; in all schl buildings and sites including gymnasiums and halls; n schl excursins; n schl camps; and at special events cnducted, rganised r attended by the schl. Infrmatin abut the strage and accessibility f adrenaline autinjectrs; hw cmmunicatin with schl staff, students and parents is t ccur in in accrdance with a cmmunicatins plan. 7. ADRENALINE AUTOINJECTORS FOR GENERAL USE The Cllege Principal will purchase Adrenaline Autinjectr(s) fr General Use (purchased by the Schl) and as a back up t thse supplied by parents. The Cllege Principal will determine the number f additinal Adrenaline Autinjectr(s) required. In ding s, the Cllege Principal will take int accunt the fllwing relevant cnsideratins: the number f students enrlled at the schl wh have been diagnsed as being at risk f anaphylaxis; the accessibility f Adrenaline Autinjectrs that have been prvided by Parents f students wh have been diagnsed as being at risk f anaphylaxis; the availability and sufficient supply f Adrenaline Autinjectrs fr General Use in specified lcatins at the schl, including in the schl yard, and at excursins, camps and special events cnducted r rganised by the schl; and the Adrenaline Autinjectrs fr General Use have a limited life, usually expiring within mnths, and will need t be replaced at the schl s expense, either at the time f use r expiry, whichever is first. 8. COMMUNICATION PLAN The Cllege Principal will be respnsible fr ensuring that a cmmunicatin plan (Appendix 4) is develped t prvide infrmatin t all staff, students and parents abut anaphylaxis and the schl s Anaphylaxis Management Plicy. The cmmunicatin plan (as utlined in Appendix 4) includes infrmatin abut what steps will be taken t respnd t an anaphylactic reactin by a student in a classrm, in the schl yard, n schl excursins, n schl camps and special event days. Vlunteers and casual relief staff f students at risk f anaphylaxis will be infrmed f students at risk f anaphylaxis and their rle in respnding t an anaphylactic reactin by a student in their care by the Cllege Nurse. All staff will be briefed nce each semester by a staff member wh has up t date anaphylaxis management training n: the Cllege s Anaphylaxis Management Plicy the causes, symptms and treatment f anaphylaxis the identities f students diagnsed at risk f anaphylaxis and where their medicatin is lcated hw t use an aut adrenaline injecting device the schl s first aid and emergency respnse prcedures the imprtance f cnsulting with the Cllege nurse prir t cnducting activities with fd. 3

9. STAFF TRAINING The fllwing schl staff will be apprpriately trained: - schl staff wh cnduct classes that students with a medical cnditin that relates t allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin; and - Any further schl staff that are determined by the Principal. The identified schl staff will undertake the fllwing training: - an Anaphylaxis Management Training Curse in the three years prir; and - participate in a briefing, t ccur twice per calendar year (with the first briefing t be held at the beginning f the schl year) n: the schl s Anaphylaxis Management Plicy; the causes, symptms and treatment f anaphylaxis; the identities f the students with a medical cnditin that relates t an allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin, and where their medicatin is lcated; hw t use an Adrenaline Autinjectr, including hands n practise with a trainer Adrenaline Autinjectr device; the schl s general first aid and emergency respnse prcedures; and the lcatin f, and access t, Adrenaline Autinjectr that have been prvided by Parents r purchased by the Schl fr general use. The briefing will be cnducted by a member f schl staff wh has successfully cmpleted an Anaphylaxis Management Training Curse in the last 12 mnths. In the event that the relevant training and briefing has nt ccurred, the Principal will develp an interim Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan in cnsultatin with the parents f any affected student with a medical cnditin that relates t allergy and the ptential fr anaphylactic reactin. Training will be prvided t relevant schl staff as sn as practicable after the student enrls, and preferably befre the student s first day at Schl. The Principal will ensure that while the student is under the care r supervisin f the schl, including excursins, yard duty, camps and special event days, there is a sufficient number f schl staff present wh have successfully cmpleted an Anaphylaxis Management Training Curse in the three years prir. Annual Risk Management Checklist The Cllege Principal will cmplete an annual Risk Management Checklist (Appendix 5) as published by the Department f Educatin and Early Childhd Develpment t mnitr cmpliance with their bligatins. 4

Appendix 2 Preventin Strategies In-schl settings It is recmmended that Schl Staff determine which strategies set ut belw fr varius in-schl settings are apprpriate after cnsideratin f factrs such as the age f the student, the facilities and activities available at the Schl, and the general Schl envirnment. Nt all strategies will be relevant fr each Schl. Classrms 1. Keep a cpy f the student's Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan in key lcatins thrughut the Cllege, including general ffice, staffrms, sub-schl ffices, first aid rms, fd technlgy classrms and canteen. 2. Liaise with Parents abut fd-related activities ahead f time. 3. Use nn-fd treats where pssible, but if fd treats are used in class it is recmmended that parents f students with fd allergy prvide a treat bx with alternative treats. Treat bxes shuld be clearly labelled and nly handled by the student. 4. Never give fd frm utside surces t a student wh is at risk f anaphylaxis. 5. Treats fr the ther students in the class shuld nt cntain the substance t which the student is allergic. It is recmmended t use nn-fd treats where pssible. 6. Prducts labelled 'may cntain traces f nuts' shuld nt be served t students allergic t nuts. Prducts labelled may cntain milk r egg shuld nt be served t students with milk r egg allergy and s frth. 7. Be aware f the pssibility f hidden allergens in fd and ther substances used in cking, fd technlgy, science and art classes (e.g. egg r milk cartns, empty peanut butter jars). 8. Ensure all cking utensils, preparatin dishes, plates, and knives and frks etc are washed and cleaned thrughly after preparatin f fd and cking. 9. Have regular discussins with students abut the imprtance f washing hands, eating their wn fd and nt sharing fd. 10. A designated staff member shuld infrm casual relief teachers, specialist teachers and vlunteers f the names f any students at risk f anaphylaxis, the lcatin f each student s Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan and Adrenaline Autinjectr, the Schl s Anaphylaxis Management Plicy, and each individual persn s respnsibility in managing an incident. ie seeking a trained staff member. 7

Canteens 1. Canteen staff (whether internal r external) shuld be able t demnstrate satisfactry training in fd allergen management and its implicatins n fd-handling practices, including knwledge f the majr fd allergens triggering anaphylaxis, crss-cntaminatin issues specific t fd allergy, label reading, etc. Refer t: 'Safe Fd Handling' in the Schl Plicy and Advisry Guide, available at: /fdhandling.aspx Helpful resurces fr fd services: 2. Canteen staff, including vlunteers, shuld be briefed abut students at risk f anaphylaxis and, where the Principal determines in accrdance with clause f the Order, have up t date training in an Anaphylaxis Management Training Curse as sn as practical after a student enrls. 3. Display the student s name and pht in the canteen as a reminder t schl staff. 4. Prducts labelled 'may cntain traces f nuts' shuld nt be served t students allergic t nuts. 5. Canteens shuld prvide a range f healthy meals/prducts in accrdance with the Cllege s Fd Services Plicy that exclude peanut r ther nut prducts in the ingredient list r a may cntain... statement. 6. Ensure that tables and surfaces are wiped dwn with warm sapy water and sanitised regularly. 7. Fd banning is nt generally recmmended. Instead, a n-sharing with the students with fd allergy apprach is recmmended fr fd, utensils and fd cntainers. The canteen must agree t nt stck peanut and tree nut prducts (e.g. hazelnuts, cashews, almnds, etc.), including chclate/hazelnut spreads. 8. Be wary f cntaminatin f ther fds when preparing, handling r displaying fd. Fr example, a tiny amunt f butter r peanut butter left n a knife and used elsewhere may be enugh t cause a severe reactin in smene wh is at risk f anaphylaxis frm cw s milk prducts r peanuts. Yard 1. If a Schl has a student wh is at risk f anaphylaxis, sufficient Schl Staff n yard duty must be trained in the administratin f the Adrenaline Autinjectr (i.e. EpiPen / Anapen ) t be able t respnd quickly t an anaphylactic reactin if needed. 2. The Adrenaline Autinjectr and each student s Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan are easily accessible frm the yard (lcated in the first aid rm), and staff shuld be aware f their exact lcatin. (Remember that an anaphylactic reactin can ccur in as little as a few minutes). 8

3. Schls must have a Cmmunicatin Plan in place s the student s medical infrmatin and medicatin can be retrieved quickly if a reactin ccurs in the yard. Staff n yard duty shuld carry a cmmunicatin device if available in rder t ntify the general ffice r first aid rm f an anaphylactic reactin in the yard. 4. Yard duty staff must als be able t identify, by face, thse students at risk f anaphylaxis. 5. Students with anaphylactic respnses t insects shuld be encuraged t stay away frm water r flwering plants. Schl Staff shuld liaise with Parents t encurage students t wear light r dark rather than bright clurs, as well as clsed shes and lng-sleeved garments when utdrs. 6. Keep lawns and clver mwed and utdr bins cvered. 7. Students shuld keep drinks and fd cvered while utdrs. Special events (e.g. sprting events, incursins, class parties, etc.) 1. Schl staff supervising the special event will be trained in the administratin f an Adrenaline Autinjectr t be able t respnd quickly t an anaphylactic reactin if required. 2. Schl Staff shuld avid using fd in activities r games, including as rewards. 3. Fr special ccasins, Schl Staff shuld cnsult the nurse wh will liaise with parents in advance t either develp an alternative fd menu r request the Parents t send a meal fr the student. 4. Parents f ther students shuld be infrmed in advance abut fds that may cause allergic reactins in students at risk f anaphylaxis and request that they avid prviding students with treats whilst they are at Schl r at a special Schl event. 5. Party ballns shuld nt be used if any student is allergic t latex. Out-f-schl settings It is recmmended that Schl Staff determine which strategies set ut belw fr varius ut-f-schl settings are apprpriate after cnsideratin f factrs such as the age f the student, the facilities and activities available at the Schl, and the general Schl envirnment. Nt all strategies will be relevant fr each Schl. Travel t and frm Schl by bus 1. Schl Staff will cnsult with Parents f students at risk f anaphylaxis and the bus service prvider t ensure that apprpriate risk minimisatin and preventin strategies and prcesses are in place t address an anaphylactic reactin shuld it ccur n the way t and frm Schl n the bus. This includes the availability and administratin f an Adrenaline Autinjectr. The Adrenaline Autinjectr and ASCIA Actin Plan fr Anaphylaxis must be with the student even if this child is deemed t yung t carry an Adrenaline Autinjectr n their persn at Schl. 9

Field trips/excursins/sprting events 1. Students may nt attend field trips/excursins if medical infrmatin has nt been prvided 2. Schl Staff supervising the special event will be trained in the administratin f an Adrenaline Autinjectr and be able t respnd quickly t an anaphylactic reactin if required. 3. A Schl Staff member r team f Schl Staff trained in the recgnitin f anaphylaxis and the administratin f the Adrenaline Autinjectr will accmpany any student at risk f anaphylaxis n field trips r excursins. 4. Schl Staff will avid using fd in activities r games, including as rewards. 5. The Adrenaline Autinjectr and a cpy f the Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan fr each student at risk f anaphylaxis will be easily accessible and Schl Staff will be aware f their exact lcatin. 6. Fr each field trip, excursin etc, a risk assessment will be undertaken fr each individual student attending wh is at risk f anaphylaxis. The risks may vary accrding t the number f anaphylactic students attending, the nature f the excursin/sprting event, size f venue, distance frm medical assistance, the structure f excursin and crrespnding staff-student rati. All Schl Staff members present during the field trip r excursin need will be aware f the identity f any students attending wh are at risk f anaphylaxis and be able t identify them by face. 7. The Schl will cnsult Parents f anaphylactic students in advance t discuss issues that may arise; t develp an alternative fd menu; r request the Parents prvide a meal (if required). 8. Parents may wish t accmpany their child n field trips and/r excursins. This shuld be discussed with Parents as anther strategy fr supprting the student wh is at risk f anaphylaxis. 9. Prir t the excursin taking place Schl Staff will cnsult with the student s Parents and Medical Practitiner (if necessary) t review the student s Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan t ensure that it is up t date and relevant t the particular excursin activity. Camps and remte settings 1. Prir t engaging a camp wner/peratr s services the Schl will make enquiries as t whether it can prvide fd that is safe fr anaphylactic students. If a camp wner/peratr cannt prvide this cnfirmatin t the Schl, then the Schl will cnsider using an alternative service prvider. 2. The camp ck shuld be able t demnstrate satisfactry training in fd allergen management and its implicatins n fd-handling practices, including knwledge f the majr fd allergens triggering anaphylaxis, crss-cntaminatin issues specific t fd allergy, label reading, etc. 10

3. The schl will nt sign any written disclaimer r statement frm a camp wner/peratr that indicates that the wner/peratr is unable t prvide fd which is safe fr students at risk f anaphylaxis. Schls have a duty f care t prtect students in their care frm reasnably freseeable injury and this duty cannt be delegated t any third party. 4. The schl will cnduct a risk assessment and develp a risk management strategy fr students at risk f anaphylaxis. This will be develped in cnsultatin with Parents f students at risk f anaphylaxis and camp wners/peratrs prir t the camp dates. 5. Schl Staff will cnsult with Parents f students at risk f anaphylaxis and the camp wner/peratr t ensure that apprpriate risk minimisatin and preventin strategies and prcesses are in place t address an anaphylactic reactin shuld it ccur. 6. If the Schl has cncerns abut whether the fd prvided n a camp will be safe fr students at risk f anaphylaxis, it will als cnsider alternative means fr prviding fd fr thse students. 7. Use f substances cntaining allergens shuld be avided where pssible. 8. Camps shuld avid stcking peanut r tree nut prducts, including nut spreads. Prducts that may cntain traces f nuts may be served, but nt t students wh are knwn t be allergic t nuts. 9. The student's Adrenaline Autinjectr, Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan, including the ASCIA Actin Plan fr Anaphylaxis and a mbile phne must be taken n camp. If mbile phne access is nt available, an alternative methd f cmmunicatin in an emergency must be cnsidered, e.g. a satellite phne. 10. Prir t the camp taking place Schl Staff will cnsult with the student's Parents t review the students Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan t ensure that it is up t date and relevant t the circumstances f the particular camp. 11. Schl Staff participating in the camp will be clear abut their rles and respnsibilities in the event f an anaphylactic reactin. Check the emergency respnse prcedures that the camp prvider has in place. Ensure that these are sufficient in the event f an anaphylactic reactin and ensure all Schl Staff participating in the camp are clear abut their rles and respnsibilities. 12. Cntact lcal emergency services and hspitals well prir t the camp. Advise full medical cnditins f students at risk, lcatin f camp and lcatin f any ff camp activities. Ensure cntact details f emergency services are distributed t all Schl Staff as part f the emergency respnse prcedures develped fr the camp. 13. The schl will cnsider taking an Adrenaline Autinjectr fr General Use n a schl camp, even if there is n student at risk f anaphylaxis, as a back up device in the event f an emergency. 14. The schl will cnsider purchasing an Adrenaline Autinjectr fr General Use t be kept in the first aid kit and including this as part f the Emergency Respnse Prcedures. 15. The Adrenaline Autinjectr will remain clse t the student and Schl Staff will be aware f its lcatin at all times. 11

16. The Adrenaline Autinjectr will be carried in the schl first aid kit; hwever, the schl will cnsider allwing students, particularly adlescents, t carry their Adrenaline Autinjectr n camp. Nte: all Schl Staff members still have a duty f care twards the student even if they d carry their wn Adrenaline Autinjectr. 17. Students with anaphylactic respnses t insects shuld always wear clsed shes and lng-sleeved garments when utdrs and shuld be encuraged t stay away frm water r flwering plants. 18. Cking and art and craft games shuld nt invlve the use f knwn allergens. 19. Cnsider the ptential expsure t allergens when cnsuming fd n buses and in cabins. Overseas travel 1. Review and cnsider the strategies listed under Field Trips/Excursins/Sprting Events and Camps and Remte Settings. Where an excursin r camp is ccurring verseas, the Schl will invlve Parents in discussins regarding risk management well in advance. 2. Investigate the ptential risks at all stages f the verseas travel such as: travel t and frm the airprt/prt; travel t and frm Australia (via aerplane, ship etc); varius accmmdatin venues; all twns and ther lcatins t be visited; surcing safe fds at all f these lcatins; and risks f crss cntaminatin, including - expsure t the fds f the ther students; hidden allergens in fds; whether the table and surfaces that the student may use will be adequate cleaned t prevent a reactin; and whether the ther students will wash their hands when handling fd. 3. Assess where each f these risks can be managed using minimisatin strategies such as the fllwing: translatin f the student s Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan and ASCIA Actin Plan; surcing f safe fds at all stages; btaining the names, address and cntact details f the nearest hspital and Medical Practitiners at each lcatin that may be visited; btaining emergency cntact details; and surcing the ability t purchase additinal autinjectrs. 4. Recrd details f travel insurance, including cntact details fr the insurer. Determine hw any csts assciated with medicatin, treatment and/r alteratin t the travel plans as a result f an anaphylactic reactin can be paid. 12

5. Plan fr apprpriate supervisin f students at risk f anaphylaxis at all times, including that: there are sufficient Schl Staff attending the excursin wh have been trained in accrdance with the guidelines there is an apprpriate level f supervisin f anaphylactic students thrughut the trip, particularly at times when they are taking mediatin and eating fd; there will be capacity fr adequate supervisin f any affected student(s) requiring medical treatment, and that adequate supervisin f ther students will be available; and staff/student ratis shuld be maintained during the trip, including in the event f an emergency where the students may need t be separated. 6. The Schl will re-assess its Emergency Respnse Prcedures, and if necessary adapt it t the particular circumstances f the verseas trip. Keep a recrd f relevant infrmatin such as the fllwing: dates f travel; name f airline, and relevant cntact details; itinerary detailing the prpsed destinatins, flight infrmatin and the duratin f the stay in each lcatin; htel addresses and telephne numbers; prpsed means f travel within the verseas cuntry; list f students and each f their medical cnditins, medicatin and ther treatment (if any); emergency cntact details f hspitals, ambulances, and Medical Practitiners in each lcatin; details f travel insurance plans t respnd t any freseeable emergency including wh will be respnsible fr the implementatin f each part f the plans; pssessin f a mbile phne r ther cmmunicatin device that wuld enable the Schl Staff t cntact emergency services in the verseas cuntry if assistance is required. Wrk experience 7. The schl will invlve Parents, the student and the emplyer in discussins regarding risk management prir t a student at risk f anaphylaxis attending wrk experience. Staff will be shwn the ASCIA Actin Plan fr Anaphylaxis and hw t use the Adrenaline Autinjectr in case the wrk experience student shws signs f an allergic reactin whilst at wrk experience. It is imprtant t nte that it is nt recmmended that banning f fd r ther prducts is used as a risk minimisatin and preventin strategy. The reasns fr this are as fllws: it can create cmplacency amng staff and students; it des nt eliminate the presence f hidden allergens; and it is difficult t "ban" all triggers (allergens) because these are nt necessarily limited t peanuts and nuts. Triggers and cmmn allergens can als include eggs, dairy, sy, wheat, sesame, seeds, fish and shellfish. 13
