Edna Pugh Cup: Winner of Division IX. 22. Kingsland Wine Cup: Winner of Wine Class containing the most entries.

2 PRIZES 1) President s Prize: Awarded for Class 61 one prize of 10. 2) Mr. J. Bufton s Prize: Awarded for the best vegetable entry in Division I. 3) Brightwells Prize: Awarded to the winner of Class 74 for best Compost. 4) Committee s Prize: Awarded for the Best Limerick, Class 59. RULES 1. Horticultural Exhibits: Classes 1 38 must be the property of the Exhibitor, and grown on his or her land. Handicraft Exhibits: All Exhibits must be the work of the Exhibitor. Previous prizewinning items not eligible. All articles to be unused and unwashed. 2. Entries to be made on proper entry forms. Further entry forms and Schedules can be obtained from the Secretary, Committee Members and Markham s Garage. 3. All Exhibits must be staged and the Hall cleared by 10.45am and no one may be allowed to enter unless appointed by the Committee until the Hall is opened, upon completion of the judging. 4. The judges decision is final in all cases. 5. Any objection or dispute shall be settled by the Committee and its decision shall be final in all cases. 6. Exhibitors will not be allowed to remove any Exhibits before 4.00pm. Items not collected by 4.30pm will be disposed of. 7. All entry forms must be received by Chelsea at Kingsland Post Office, or Caroline Southgate, Stone Mill, The Wardens, Kingsland HR6 9DP NOT LATER THAN 4.00pm Thursday, 9th August 2018 please. 8. The Committee reserve the right to refuse entries. 9. The Committee, whilst taking all reasonable precautions against loss or damage to Exhibitors property, do not hold themselves responsible for any loss or damage to such property at the Show. 10. First, Second and Third Prizes are awarded where the Class attracts five or more entries. Where there are less than five, prizes may be restricted. 11. Competitors must provide their own plates, vases, etc. for staging exhibits. 12. Competitors are restricted to ONE entry in any one class. 13. Points System: First: 3 points; Second: 2 points; Third: 1 point. 14. Entries to the Show will be unrestricted. 15. Juniors may enter any class higher than their own age group, including the Senior Divisions. 16. Each entrant must complete a separate entry form i.e. not all family names on one entry form.

7 COFFEE AND WALNUT CAKE For the Cake 225g/8oz unsalted butter. Plus extra for greasing 225g/8oz castor sugar 4 free-range eggs 50ml/1¾ fl oz strong espresso coffee 225g/8oz self-raising flour 75g/2½oz walnuts 125g/4½oz unsalted butter 200g/7oz icing sugar 50ml/2fl oz strong espresso coffee 12 walnuts halves, to decorate For the Buttercream Topping Method 1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until very light and pale. 3. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter and sugar mixture, beating well to completely incorporate each egg before adding the next egg. 4. Add the espresso to the mixture and stir well. 5. Add the flour and walnuts and stir well to completely combine. 6. Spoon the cake mixture into two lined and greased 20cm/8in cake tins. 7. Transfer to the oven to bake minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean and the cake is golden-brown. 8. Remove the cakes from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack 9. For the buttercream topping, beat the butter and icing sugar together in a small bowl until pale and light. 10. Add the espresso and mix well. 11. Spread the buttercream over the top of each cake, then place one cake on top of the other. 12. Decorate the top of the cake with the walnut halves. Garden Stall There will be a selection of plants, herbs, garden items and produce for sale. Donations welcome please support the stall with produce and plant donations and/or purchases. All proceeds to village causes.
