1 Oxnard: 910 Commercial Ave., Oxnard, CA 93030, /FAX Santa Maria: 415 Russell Ave., Santa Maria, CA 93458, /FAX Visit us on the web: Like us on Facebook Order online: June 2015 In This Issue Customer Spotlight Fork & Cork Cheese Board/Wild Things Fruits of June June Vegetables Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar The vision for this amazing spot located smack dab in the center of the one year old Santa Barbara Public Market, comes from Santa Barbara s own Jerry Lee. Jerry is no stranger to the restaurant business having grown up with parents who owned a Chinese restaurant in SLO. After traveling throughout South East Thailand, Jerry came back to S.B. with a lofty dream to eventually build and own a Thai food venue composed of authentic Thai street food.like his mom and grandma s food. He jumped right into the business of learning the ropes of the food industry by first working in the now defunct Great Harvest Bread Co. as General Manager, then on to Michelle Ruchard s Citronelle as Wine Buyer/Mgr. then moving upward and forward as Wine Buyer at San Y sidro Ranch for an 8 year stint. Finally, Jerry was scooped up by newly renovated El Encanto Hotel as Director of Restaurant. With all this experience and knowledge and some 18 years later, Jerry Lee s dream chance arose. Marge Cafarelli, owner of S.B. Public Market, gave him the primo spot right in the center of market hubbub. Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar was then born. Jerry s friends and now co-owners, Ms. Nui Pannak, came in as Chef de Cuisine, the creative force behind all of the wonderfully delish concoctions on their colorful menu which includes Jerry s mama s exceptional, the best some have ever tasted pork pot stickers. She actually makes them! Joining the twosome came friend Emre Balli as front of the house man and co-owner. This awesome threesome have together created one of the most successful, creative and productive food venues in Santa Barbara. Fresh, local Farmer s Market inspired Thai cuisine is what you will find at Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar located at 38 West Victoria, Ste.109, in Santa Barbara. Serving select wine and beer, open seven days a week, grab a seat at the very slick, svelte bar to watch beautiful Nui and her gaggle of cooks stirring up luscious bowls of Thai inspired fare. Congrats and aprons off to these, some would say, charmed restauranteurs!

Whether it's protein to help build and repair the muscle tissue of active bodies or vitamin A to help maintain healthy skin, dairy products are a natural nutrient powerhouse. Those are just a few of the reasons that you should celebrate dairy, not just in June, but all year long.
