Topics Rules proposals Universal List Blowers, Master Calibration Samples Tropical Seed Handbook Purity Workshop, Palmerston North, New Zealand, 2013 X-ray imaging to determine the content of pelleted seeds
Rules proposals 2014 C.3.1. Clarification of rounding procedure in the purity test C.3.2. Clarification of the need to retain the component parts found during the purity analysis C.4.1. Clarification of how to report when seed cannot be identified with certainty to species level C.4.2. Clarification of the need to retain any seeds found during the other seed determination analysis C Clarification that applies to all chaffy seeds and the procedure for weighing replicates
Rules proposals C.3.1. Clarification of rounding procedure in the purity test The proposal is made to clarify and standardize the rounding procedure for purity components where the second decimal place figure is 0.05% or more, in that the component(s) is rounded up to one decimal place. New wording added Rounding procedure Fraction percentages must be rounded to one decimal place. After rounding, add together the percentages of all fractions.
Rules proposals C.3.2. Clarification of the need to retain the component parts found during the purity analysis New wording added Rounding procedure After weighing, the components found must be retained and stored for reference until sample disposal (see and ). Other seed Inert matter Pure seed
Rules proposals C.4.1. Clarification of how to report when seed cannot be identified with certainty to species level. Addition to 4.7 of the same wording as in 3.7 New wording added...where it is impossible to determine with certainty on the basis of seed characteristics, the genus name only is reported (e.g. Malus sp.)...
Rules proposals C.4.2. Clarification of the need to retain any seeds found during the other seed determination analysis New wording added Seeds of the species found must be retained and stored for reference until sample disposal (see and ).
Rules proposals 2014 C.10.1 Clarification that applies to all chaffy seeds and the procedure for weighing replicates 1. The coefficient of 6.0 should apply to all chaffy seeds (see 3.6.6) and not just chaffy grass seed 2. The correct number of decimal places to be used when weighing either the whole purity working sample weight or the weight of the individual replicates. New wording and new Table added to Chapter 10 The working sample or replicates to be weighed to the minimum number of decimal places as indicated in Table 10A.
