2 FRI, OCT 12 DAY 1 MADRID Land at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport this morning, and meet your Travel Director. Take a private transfer to the Ribera del Duero area, your home for the next seven nights. Stop in Segovia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site to tour the Roman aqueduct and Alcázar of Segovia. QUINTANILLA DE ONÉSIMO Continue on to the Ribera del Duero wine region and check in to our hotel, a centuries old, restored water mill. Come together to enjoy a special welcome dinner at the hotel s restaurant, featuring a wide range of wines from Castilla y León. Dinner SAT, OCT 13 DAY 2 MEDINA DEL CAMPO Drive to the stunning town of Medina del Campo and view the Castle of La Mota. Learn the history and cultural importance of the castle during a tour. After, head to a winery in La Seca, a village and appellation of Rueda in Castilla y León. Enjoy a tour and tasting before lunch at the winery. VALLADOLID Stop at the Campoveja Queseria, a cheesemaker located in the heart of Castilla y León. Tour the facility, learn about their cheese-making process, and taste five different sheep s milk cheeses. Enjoy a traditional Spanish dinner at one of our favorite restaurants tonight in Valladolid. 3 SUN, OCT 14 DAY 3 PEÑAFIEL CASTLE Visit the Provincial Wine Museum in the gorgeous Peñafiel Castle. Listen as an expert guide gives an extensive overview of the rich wine-making history of Valladolid. After, head to the Pago de Carraovejas Winery for a tour and tasting. Enjoy lunch at José Maria s restaurant. PEÑAFIEL WINERY Head to a boutique winery in Peñafiel producing wines from the Tinto Fino, or Tempranillo, varietal. Stroll through the vineyards and winery with their expert staff, then taste some of their wines with the owner. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure back at the hotel. Breakfast, lunch MON, OCT 15 DAY 4 VALLADOLID Relax and chat during breakfast, then head over to a Spanish tapas workshop with Chef Ramiro. Learn about tapas, or small plates, that are one of Spain s most famous and traditional foods. Make a lunch out of the tapas created in our class, complemented by Valladolid wines. ÍSCAR Refresh your palette at an amazing microbrewery, La Loca Juana. Head to Iscar Castle, an ancient fort on a hilltop, where this microbrewery is located. View the vineyards spread over a patchwork of tiny plots on the hillsides and plateaus sculpted by the Duero River. Learn about the Tinto de Toro grape and wines created from it. OLD QUARTER, VALLADOLID Enjoy another tour and tasting this afternoon at Quinta de la Quietud Winery. Learn about their organic farming methods, meander the estate and vineyards, and enjoy lunch with the lead winemaker. Explore Valladolid tonight during a tapas crawl through the old quarter. Meet the winemaking staff, learn about their cultivation practices, and see the recently built production building and barrel room. MUCIENTES Feast on lunch in a 13th-century wine cellar. Enjoy traditional dishes from the region, such as delectable Castilian roast lamb. After, continue on to Sinforiano Winery for a tour and tasting of their premium wines.
