To: Mayor and City Council From: Cory Betterson, Accountant II Date: April 9, 2018 Subject: Resolution Updating the Alcohol License Fee Schedule ITEM DESCRIPTION Approval of a resolution to update the alcohol license fee schedule to include new fees for brokers, manufacturers, and brewpubs. BACKGROUND Subject to the approval of ordinance amendments to license brokers, manufacturers, and brewpubs, we ve included a resolution to update the alcohol fee schedule. Staff reviewed our current fee schedule and the work required for the issuance of such licenses. In that review, the current fees for annual resident wholesaler s license best correlates to the work involved for the broker and manufacturer s license. Staff is recommending fees for a broker and manufacturer license to be equivalent. Additionally, staff is recommending the fees for a brewpub license to be comparable to a consumption on premises license plus a retail package license. The recommended rates are considered the fairest amounts to all of our businesses holding alcohol licenses. The recommended fees would be in addition to any administrative fees or supplemental fees; similar to other alcohol licenses issued. RECOMMENDED ACTION It is respectfully requested for Council to approve the resolution updating the alcohol license fee schedule and establishing the license fees for brokers, manufacturers, and brewpubs.
