Hello everyone. To begin with, I want to thank Nancy Roell for putting on the Kids with Cancer chicken dinner Saturday night the 17th, and to those who helped her. I think those of us that attended had a good time and enjoyed a nice dinner. The money raised goes to the State Association major charity which is Kids with Cancer. The 2 camps it benefits are Camp Quality and Indian Springs. The money is presented at the State Convention in February each year. Again, thank you all who have given to this for the past year. Lastly...Thank you for letting me serve you as Exalted Ruler. Overall, it has been an enjoyable experience which I will remember. Thank you to all the officers who worked with me to offer assistance and support when I've needed it. It's a great team to work with and be a part of. I can't say enough about the friends I've made. I can't forget to thank the members who have worked and the others who come and support the lodge. You don't realize how much I appreciate all you do. You are the reason I do as much as I do, whether working or just having a good time. A big Thank You to all of you. I hope to continue seeing you this upcoming year and for future events. I want to send a shout out to Don Spradlin who will be assuming the role of Exalted Ruler as of March 31. Don, Good Luck!! I hope your time in this new position will enrich your experience in Elkdom as it has mine. Any questions, just ask. We're here for you. Fraternally, Linda Caldwell, PER Exalted Ruler Passing Of The Torch On a personal note, I d like to thank Linda Caldwell for a job well done as our Exalted Ruler. Thanks for all the work you ve done, and all the help you ve given on so many events. This was your second time as Exalted Ruler and you have done an excellent job. You should be proud of the job you have completed for the year of 2017-2018. We are all so proud of you and appreciate the time and dedication you have given to our lodge for the past year. Well done, sister! Don Spradlin, Congratulations on being our newly elected Exalted Ruler, have a great new year. Fran Bray - PER, Newsletter Editor. 2

Thanks for Supporting the Chicken Dinner for Kids with Cancer Fund Raiser I would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the Kids with Cancer chicken dinner, it was a great success. I had wonderful helpers, from Bill Frommeyer at the door, Linda Carmack, Daisy and Peggy Taylor selling chances, Bob Samson behind the bar and Scott behind the scenes, thank you. I also want to thank Walter Andrews, he went all the way to Batesville Indiana, stood in line for an hour and a half to buy 4 dozen Cherry Thing A Lings (only sold once a year for Presidents day) and donated them to sell as a dessert, thank you. And last but not least I have to thank my professional kitchen crew, and what a crew they were, Sam Taylor, Terry Amiott, Kathy Frommeyer, Debbie Rawe, and Linda Caldwell. None of this would have been possible with out ever ones help, whether it was coming out to eat, working or just donating to the cause. This lodge is only as good as the members want it to be. Thank you all. Nancy Roell Thank You Nancy Roell I would like to thank Nancy Roell for all the work she did on the Chicken Dinner Event and for all the work she does everywhere else. Thanks to all the generous women that baked and donated desserts. Our next Quarter Auction will be on March 20th, 2018 at 7 pm, we will need baked goods again. Thank You for your support each month. Ruth Bray Can Tab Collections by D. Arnold We have collected 78 + lbs. of pull tabs to recycle for Ronald McDonald House. Thanks to all who donate. Please help us collect the aluminum can tabs from your soft drink and beer cans by removing them from the top of your canned drink and placing them in the bowl on top of the blue recycling trash can. You can also hand them to our bartender, Kathy Hargett. If you are now giving them to someone else, could you please save them for Collection on Monday and Saturday at the Elks. These little tabs are recycled and the money received for the aluminum helps subsidize the lodging costs for families of very sick children at the Ronald McDonald House. Thank you so much to everyone for contributing to this effort. "In loving memory of MY Mom & Dad, Kate & Earl Kuntz from your favorite. Mark." 11
