«Saint-Malo» shawl Soie et laine - April 2016 - http://www.helenespat.com/ With a translation made by Bgow Any size yarn can be used for this shawl. Mine was knit with Malabrigo Arroyo because I wanted a spring shawl. I used 2 skeins with 4 mm needles to give a shawl of 170cm X 75 cm. I worked section 2, 3.5 times. I made a 12 row border in garter and bound off with a picot bind off. This is an easy to knit shawl. Its construction is simple and the stitch patterns easy to remember. Stitches used: Stockingnet st (st st)- knit on right side and purl on wrong side reverse st st- purl on right side and knit on wrong side yarn over (yo) knit in the row below K1B. The shawl starts with a garter tab. I will show you how with pictures. other side after the last row. 1. Cast on 3 sts. 2. Knit every row for 8 rows. Do not turn the work to the 3. Rotate your work to the left and pick up and knit 9 sts to give 12 sts on the needle.

SECTION 1 You start with 12 sts. The center sts are written in blue. row 1 = K3, yo, K2, yo, K2, yo, K2, yo, K3 row 2 = K3, P10, K3 row 3 = K3, yo, K1, P2, K1, yo, K2, yo, K 1, P2, K1, yo, K3 row 4 = K3, P2, K2, P6, K2, P2, K3. Repeat rows 3 and 4 ending on row 35. The rose section (on the right side) increases by 2 sts each time. The orange section on the back side increases by 2 sts each time. As an aid, here is a small table which shows how many purl sts (=rose sts) you will have on each right side row.
