Stocks of all fish on February 1, 1939 aggregated 32.1 million lb. of which 26,9 million lb. were Frozen Fresh; 2.8 million lb. FrozenSmoked, and 2.3 million lb. Cured. These figures are greater by 411hil1ion.1b.,presh Lnd Frozen, and less by 20 thousand lb. Smoked, Dried, Pickied and Salted than those of February 1, 1938. As compared with.nuary 1, 1939 figures they are 14.1 per cent less for Frozen Fresh, 17.3 per cent less for Frozen Smoked and 30.6 per cent 1e8s for Cured. C 0 D. The stocks of all Cod totalled 4,856,614 lb. of which 2,823,234 lb. were Frozen F'resh; 1,159,580 lb. Frozen Smoked, and 873,800 lb. Cured. These figures are equivalent to 71.7 per cent of last month's stocks and are 375,763 lb. more than the stocks on February 1, 1938. There was an appt' net "OutofStorage" movement of 1,913,130 lb. The quantity frozen during January 1939 was 714,050 lb. as compared with the total of 800,148 lb. for January 1938. HADDOCK. All Haddock stocks including Finnan Haddies, were 2,856,553 lb. consisting of 17955,706 lb. Frozen Fresh; 896,884 lb. Frozen Smoked and 3,963 lb. Cured. These are less by 17.4 per cent than the stocks of January 1, 1939 and 464,510 lb. greater than at the same time last year. The apparent net "OutofStorage" movement was 603,362 lb. The catch frozen during January 1939 168,837 lb.,, was 22,582 lb. less than the quantity frozen during January 1938. HAKE, CTJSK The stocks totalled 201,463 lb. These stocks are 28.1 per cent less & POLLOCK. than the revised figures for January 1, 1939. SALMON. Holdings of all Salmon were 6,877,857 lb. made up of 6,168,727 lb. Frozen Fresh; 12,765 lb. Frozen Smokednd 696,364 lb. Cured. These holdings are 1.1 million lb. greater than at February 1, 1938 and 15.9 per cent less than those of January 1, 1939. lb. The apparent net "OatofStorage" movement during January was 1,297,171 Salmon frozen during January 1939, fresh totalled 240,976 lb, as compared with 223,820 lb. last year. SEA HERRING. The total stocks of this classification, including Kippers and Bloaters, were 5,679,887 lb. as compared with 4,248,084 lb. last year and are 86.0 Per cent of last month's revised figures. Quantities of Sea Herring, Fresh and Smoked, frozen during january 1939 were reported as 599,980 lb. as compared with freezings of 57,950 lb. during January 1938. OTHER. All other fish stocks amounted to 11,128,975 lb. Frozen Fresh, 289,018 lb. Frozen Smoked and 30,120 lb. Cured. Quantities of Fresh and Smoked frozen during January were 303,462 lb.
