The Dominant Understory was a sparse shrub layer. Late successional stage. Lichens were noted, as was deer browse. There was a Paw paw (Asimina triloba) grove within the. No invasive plants were noted. A very large oak the may be a witness tree and it may fit the 1990 description better.
