The lean/plain lambs will come to more money in the store section on a Friday. Marsh Hill Farm sold their Beltex X at 197 and 191p/kg. M/s RFC Fenemore & Son sold Texel X at 196p/kg. Paul Roads achieved 192p/kg for Beltex X followed by Andrew Ivory at 191p/kg. Barton Abbey Farm topped their run at 189p/kg. Honesberie Farm sold their Charollais X Mules to 89.00 and 85.00. M/s Fenemore sold at 86.50, M/s Hanson 86.00. Suffolk X from Richard Tredwell sold at 85.00. Cull Ewes 138 Forward The largest entry of ewes for some months, bolstered by plenty of pens of very lean sorts. Native X ewes sold to 60.00. Lean Suffolk X sold at 57.00 and 55.00. We look forward to another 400 next week. Trade today was a little harder to follow, cattle likely to exceed 400kgs carcass weight met a subsidised trade as did the colder cattle. Ron Varney took top honours in the steers selling Limousin X at 1165.00 and 1160.00, Charolais X 1140.00 and Blonde X 1130.00 all at 18/20 months. M/s R E Greaves and Son sold their usual quality Limousin to 1135.00 at 14 months with others at 1065.00 and 1038.00. Simmental X South Devon sold to 1130.00 and 1100.00 from Oxenford Farms. Mrs C Long sold her Simmental X Steers to 1100.00 and Blondes to 1078.00. The best of the Aberdeen Angus were sold by Sally and Charlie Beaman at 1055.00. Younger steers topped at 1038.00 at 11 months for Charolais X from the Burbage consignment. M/s Long sold at 950.00, who also sold a wonderful pair of Blonde X heifers at 1105.00. David Mansbridge topped the British Blue X at 1030.00 and 995.00. M/s Burbage sold Charolais X at 978.00. The best of the Limousin X came from D Crook at 958.00, followed by Peter Eyre-Brook at 950.00. Simmental X from Oxenford Farms sold at 945.00. Blonde X Heifers sold to 802.00 at 10 months from Chris Sabine. Feeding Cows sold to 1000.00 for Charolais X from Graham Thorn. Limousin X sold to 882.00. Simmental X heifer and calf sold at 1115.00. Young Stock Bulls sold to 1012.00 for Charolais from K J Wolfe. Aberdeen Angus sold to 1010.00. Store Sheep Only a few lambs forward this week, there should have been many more with the trade as strong as it was.
