Le Château du Broutel We would like to ivite all Year 6 childre to joi us o our aual residetial visit to Le Château du Broutel, a stately home o the outskirts of the small, historical tow of Rue i the Somme regio of Norther Frace. Le Château du Broutel dates back to 1714 ad is situated i more tha 40 acres of beautiful grouds. Our visit to Frace promises to be a excitig opportuity for childre to be able to use their kowledge of the Frech laguage ad culture. About Le Château du Broutel Le Château du Broutel is situated o the edge of the small historical tow of Rue, betwee Le Touquet ad Abberville o the Cote Picarde, i Somme. It is situated 5 miutes off the A16 motorway which liks Calais Amies Paris. Le Château du Broutel dates back to 1714 ad has over 40 acres of beautiful grouds. A superb patio overlooks a private lake ad laws with 100 year old chestuts providig a spectacular backdrop.
Arragemets o day of departure for Frace A ice ad early start as childre meet to leave at 6.00am! School uiform ot required, childre to wear comfortable, casual clothig. A list of what to brig will be provided closer to the visit.
The Jourey We will be travellig by coach to the port of Dover to board the ferry. O board childre ejoy visitig the café, duty free shops ad the arcade. A fial coach jourey of approximately a hour from Calais takes us to the Château. Childre who are proe to travel sickess should be give ay medicatio by parets prior to the jourey.
Activities Our coach remais with us for the duratio of our stay which meas we ca make visits to a rage of excitig ad iterestig places. The childre will have opportuities to visit places of iterest such as local museums ad a small cathedral ad shop i local markets which host a rage of differet Frech goods icludig clothes, food ad a woderful patisserie. They will be able to practice speakig i Frech whe buyig food items ad commuicate with local people whe visitig a café to order driks. A visit to a chocolate factory allows childre to see how chocolate is made ad sample how good it tastes!
Historical Sites Childre will visit the Somme Museum i Albert where they will see real relics ad recreated scees from WW1. They will visit may moumets ad memorials to falle soldiers from the war.
Eveig Activities After the eveig meal, childre will participate i a rage of activities such as Château Olympics, quiz ight ad ejoy marshmallows aroud a camp fire.
Staffig A maximum of 38 places are available for this visit with 4 members of staff attedig from Hill West. All members of staff from le Château are qualified ad professioal but also lively ad extremely ethusiastic ad keep the childre etertaied at all times!
Accommodatio The bedrooms accommodate either 6 or 8 childre ad all rooms have e-suite bathrooms. The childre will eed to brig a sleepig bag, pillowcase ad towels. Sleepig arragemets will be plaed prior to the visit. The teachers rooms will be ear the childre so they will always be o had ad readily available should your child eed them durig the ight. The staff at Le Château du Broutel are also available ad ready to provide 24 hour assistace throughout the stay.
Food The childre will have a full breakfast, luch ad a hot eveig meal every day. Fresh vegetables, fruit ad a large choice of salads accompay all meals. O full day excursios a packed luch will be provided. There will be plety of choice ad variety ad childre will also have the opportuity of samplig frogs legs ad sails! The caterig staff at Le Château du Broutel are used to providig for a wide rage of dietary requiremets ad all special diets are catered for. We will ask you for full details of your child s dietary requiremets before we go.
