SIGN UP FOR REMIND Your tour director will keep you in the loop throughout the trip by sending you text messages through REMIND. Both participants and parents can sign up for messages. Participants will receive timeline reminders throughout the day on when to be where so that you ll stay on time. Parents will receive a few updates daily just letting them know how things are going with the group including fun photos and video links. Students & chaperones on the trip should text @fchsnyc to 81010 Parents that are staying at home should text @fchsfamily to 81010 Instructions are included at the end of this packet. LUGGAGE LIMITATIONS Flanagan Cornell High School Band & Choir New York City March 24-28, 2018 Luggage tags should be attached to all luggage. Coach is loaded by selected loading crews. Each person is allowed ONE PIECE of luggage underneath the coach. The bag should be MEDIUM SIZE with dimensions no greater than 50 linear inches (height + width + length). You will receive an Entourage luggage tag prior to your trip to be placed on your bigger piece of luggage going beneath the coach. Small carry-on bags can be placed in the overhead bins inside of the motorcoach. ON BOARD THE COACH You ll have the opportunity to travel in style on board a Cavallo Bus Lines deluxe motorcoach. The coach will become our living room that we will share for many hours while traveling together. Here are a few tips to help make your experience as pleasant as possible: 110V Outlets are available on board the coaches. Limited access Wi-Fi is available on board the coaches. You will be able to check your email, visit social networking sites and surf the web. You will not be able to stream videos, music, or upload/download any information requiring more than 512Kbp/s of bandwidth. Mobile service picks up from various cell towers while traveling down the road and will not be available consistently throughout the trip. We will make comfort stops approximately every 2-3 hours during our tour. Typically, we will use rest areas or travel plazas for our rest room stops. Meal breaks will be made at appropriate exits that offer the group a variety of fast food options to choose from. NO DAIRY products are allowed on board the motorcoach (includes milk, blended drinks, ice cream, yogurt). Plan to enjoy your ice cream treats before you get back on the coach during the tour. A clean bus is a happy bus! Participants are required to keep the motorcoach clean during the tour. Trash bags will be located in the front and back of the coach. We will look for volunteers to periodically help us clean up the coach. Food & Beverage is allowed on board the motorcoach only if the group is responsible and is keeping the coach clean. If the coach is not in acceptable condition during the trip, these privileges will be suspended. A DVD player is available on the motorcoach. Please bring your favorites to share! G or PG Rated movies are preferred. Only movies that have been deemed appropriate material by your chaperones will be shown. Movies with excessive language and/or adult situations will be pulled. PG-13 will be shown at the discretion of the chaperones on board the coach. Bring a Pillow & Blanket for your sleeping comfort on the way home.

A local expert will join your group and you ll have an opportunity to explore Lower Manhattan the Financial District, Chinatown, Little Italy, and more! You ll have time off the coach to walk through these neighborhoods and get to know them up close and personal! Your tour will end at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. 2:00 pm ET One World Observatory. You ll ascend to the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere in less than sixty seconds, then look toward the horizon and feel the city s invincible spirit. Take in the iconic sights, explore three levels filled with innovation and inspiration, and immerse yourself in the bustling crossroads of the world at the See Forever Theater. 3:30 pm ET Walk 1 mile to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. 4:00 pm ET Staten Island Ferry. Experience a New York City classic! This 5-mile, 25-minute ride will provide you with a majestic view of New York Harbor. From the deck of the ferry you will have a perfect view of The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You ll see the skyscrapers and bridges of Lower Manhattan receding as you pull away and coming into focus again as you return. Once we arrive in Staten Island, we will disembark from the ferry and get right back in line to re-board and return to Manhattan. 6:00 pm ET Transfer to the Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Meadowlands. 7:00 pm ET Pizza & Pool Party at your hotel. You ll be on and off the motorcoach seeing sights including the Carnegie Hall, Grand Central Terminal, St. Patrick s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, and much more. 1:00 pm ET Arrive at Central Park, where you ll walk 0.4 miles carrying your instrument to the Central Park Bandshell to set up for the performance. 1:30 pm ET Flanagan Cornell High School Band performs at the Central Park Bandshell. 2:00 pm ET Load your instruments back on to the bus and continue your Guided Tour of Manhattan. 4:30 pm ET Radio City Music Hall Tour. The Radio City Stage Door Tour offers an insider's look at the legendary Radio City Music Hall. On this guided tour, discover art deco masterpieces, learn the secrets of the Great Stage, meet a Rockette, plus much more! 6:00 pm ET After your tour, you ll walk 0.7 miles as a group to Dallas BBQ in Times Square. 6:45 pm ET Dallas BBQ. In this intimate one-hour session, participants will have the opportunity to sit down and talk to a Broadway performer. This will include personal success stories, career moments and insight into life as a performer. There will be a private performance from the artist just for you! 11:30 am ET Transfer to Lincoln Center. Enjoy an Earl of Sandwich Boxed Lunch in the plaza at Lincoln Center. NOTE: You will be on foot for the rest of today. 1:15 pm ET Meet your guide at the Charles B. Benenson Grove to begin your tour of Lincoln Center. NOTE: Due to Lincon Center s strict bag policy all bags on tour must be under 12x12x12 inches. Larger bags will be held outside of the tour by a volunteer chaperone and your tour director. During your guided tour, you ll learn more about Lincoln Center s iconic landmarks - including the Revson Fountain, the newly transformed Alice Tully Hall and the Metropolitan Opera House - which have been showcased in movies like Black Swan, Sweet Home Alabama, and Ghostbusters. You ll have the chance to go behind the scenes at venues where a spectacular range of artists have performed. Each tour is unique and you never know what might happen. You might sit in on a rehearsal, walk out onto a stage or meet a star! 2:45 pm ET This afternoon you will make your way downtown to explore and experience Times Square. The hustle & bustle of Times Square is sure to leave you in awe. 4:45 pm ET Ellen s Stardust Diner. Tonight, you re in for a treat with Broadway-style entertainment from your Broadway-bound waiters and waitresses in this one-of-a-kind Times Square diner. Dinner includes Chips & Salsa for the table, your choice of Entrée, and Mini-Ice Cream Sundaes with Soft Drinks or Tea. 6:00 pm ET Walk 0.5 miles as a group to the New Amsterdam Theatre and take your seats for the show. 7:00 pm ET Aladdin the Musical! Discover a whole new world at ALADDIN, the hit Broadway musical. From the producer of The Lion King comes the timeless story of Aladdin, a thrilling new production filled with unforgettable beauty, magic, comedy and breathtaking spectacle. We will make a final rest stop outside of the city and a quick breakfast stop in the morning. NOTE: Participants should pack a carry-on bag with toiletries and a change of clothes for the morning. They will not be able to access their luggage until arrival at home. Stops that are made between 11:00 pm 6:00 am are for the benefit and comfort of the drivers. All participants are to remain on board the coach during these stops. Day 5 Wednesday, March 28, 2018 Meals: Snacks & Bottled Water on board the coach, $10 Breakfast Allotment, Boxed Lunch 12:00 pm ET Conn-Selmer Plant Tour. Students will have the choice to tour the Woodwind/Mallet Factory or the Brass Factory. Prior to your tour you ll have a Boxed lunch to enjoy on the bus either before or after your tour. NOTE: Participants are required to wear close-toed shoes and have a signed waiver turned in prior to the trip in order to tour the Conn-Selmer Plant. 1:00 pm ET Travel to Flanagan, IL. Entering Central Time Zone 3:30 pm CT Approximate arrival at Flanagan Cornell High School.
