Chapter News Message from President Elvis Nail I hope all you gentlemen are enjoying your summer! It s hard to believe our next meeting will be the August meeting. We had such a good time at our last Mt. Auburn Presbyterian meeting were going back for a do over. Close parking, lots of room, beautiful facility, and of course, air conditioning! Plans for our 20 th anniversary meeting in October at Laurel Ridge Farm continues. So far, the plan is to start our meeting an hour early at 2pm instead of 3pm. We will have a guest speaker (more info to come) a corn-hole competition, music, book swap, a memorial table honoring members of prime timers who have passed, and of course, a pig roast. Michael Scott and Ted Richmond are reaching out to other chapters of Prime Timers inviting them to join us in our celebration. Be sure to mark your calendar now for October 8 th to join your friends and celebrate this happy occasion. Looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting or one of the upcoming special events. Jack will make reservations at Taste of Belgium at 6:00 PM for those interested in going to dinner. This will be a pay as you go evening. Special Event Jack Norris WINE TASTING TOUR SEPTEMBER 30 Meet at the Rock Bar, located in the center of the Jack Casino. Free parking in the casino garage. Be at the Rock Bar by 3 PM as there is a check in procedure. Bus departs at 3:30PM Tour is by Cincy Wine Wagon. The first stop will be Holtkamp Winery. We will taste their wines, they will offer some snacks and we will have an opportunity to purchase wine by the bottle. Next we will proceed to Henke Winery arriving there around 5:30. We will have an assortment of gourmet pizza s and salad for dinner and taste their wines, again with an opportunity to purchase wine by the bottle. We will then proceed to Revel QTR Urban Winery and again taste more wine. After spending an hour there we will end up back at the Jack Casino were you will be able to try your luck at the tables and one armed bandits. Fee is $85.00, does not include gratuity for the tour guide. Restaurant gratuity is included along with all taxes. Reservations made and fees should be paid by Saturday, Sept. 7th. Bob Jones Membership Report Nick Klaene The TSPT Monthly meeting will be on August 13, 2017 in the social room at Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, 103 Wm. Howard Taft Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45219. A donation of $10.00 is suggested along with a dish to be shared. The club will supply Fried Chicken. Membership is asked to bring a dish as follows: Last name beginning with: A to H H to O P to Z Appetizer Side Dishes Desserts We have permission to have beer and wine at the event, so you can BYOB if you want. Please no hard liquor. Direction to MAPC: From I-71, take the Wm Howard Taft exit to the church on the left. Park in the back of the church in the parking lot. From I-75 take the Hopple St. Exit east to MLK St. to Clifton Ave south to Mcmillan St. Turn left on McMillan. Go past Auburn Ave. to the first driveway on the left into the parking lot. From downtown, go north on Sycamore St. and bear left on Auburn Ave. Go north to McMillan St. and turn right to first driveway on the left into the parking lot. We had a good meeting in July. Seven of the guys that stopped by our booth at the Pride Festival came to the meeting and all seven joined our Prime Timers group. This brings our membership up to 127!!! Interest Groups Cards & Games Bill Clark Movie Night Mike Ma Raymond Boissy & Vince Hadley will host the card party on Sat. Aug. 19, 2017. Location: 2348 Raeburn Ter., Cincinnati, OH 45223. New guys are always welcome. We play mostly Euchre, but sometimes we have Gourmet Dining Tom Grogan The Gourmet Dining group will visit Jean Robert's French Crust at Findlay Market on Thursday, August 31. We meet in the bar for drinks at 6 with dinner at 6:30. We had planned to go there in late May but didn't due to some since resolved problems they were having with their liquor license. There is plenty of free parking on the street and in the lot across the street. You can find information on this restaurant by visiting their facebook page. The menu can be seen in the photos section. If you plan to join us, please let Tom Grogan know (tgrog358@yahoo.com or 513.305.2015) as soon as possible so that you can be included in the reservation. Suggestions for movies, theaters, additional dates and times, restaurants etc. are welcome. See you at the Movies! Monday Bridge Night Kim Roots ATTENTION ALL BRIDGE PLAYERS!! There is a social bridge group that meets every Monday evening at 7:00 at the various players' houses. The host serves a simple dinner (pizza, chili, sandwiches) to his 3 guests and then they settle down for a friendly game of bridge. If you are interested in this group contact Kim Roots at 513-254-6243 or kimballroots@gmail.com. You are welcome to sit in on a game to see what it's like. You can also sign on as a substitute player if you would rather not commit to a schedule.
