Dear Hatboro-Horsham School District Families, The colder temperatures are a reminder of the potential for inclement weather conditions during the winter months. In the event of severe atmospheric circumstances, the Hatboro-Horsham School District will close our schools or alter our daily schedule to ensure the safety of our students. Decisions will be made and communicated as early as possible should schools need to open late, dismiss early, or be closed for the day. Our goal is to make determinations for school closings or delayed openings by 10:00 PM the evening prior or by 5:30 AM in the morning. Early dismissal decisions are reached as soon as possible based on weather conditions, transportation arrangements, and sufficient time to communicate with families. In the event of a school closing, delayed opening, or early dismissal, announcements will be made through our School Messenger telephone and email system. Information will also be posted on cable channel 28 (Comcast), cable channel 33 (Verizon), our district website, KYW-1060 AM (School Code # 313), as well as on most local television stations and their websites. These announcements will also be tweeted via the Hatboro-Horsham twitter account. We know that closing schools or modifying daily schedules can be very challenging for families. I encourage you to begin planning now to make the appropriate child care arrangements for your children. Happy Holidays! Dr. Curtis J. Griffin Superintendent of Schools
