The JOOP Contest The JOOP (Japan Olive Oil Prize) contest was created in 2013 by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, aiming at promoting extra virgin olive oils of all origins in Japan. An international panel of certified jurors blind taste and select over 150 oils from over 20 Countries. JOOP Editions First edition: 2013, March 18 Second edition: 2014, May 17 Third edition: 2015, May 30 Fourth edition: 2016, June 9 Fifth edition: 2017, April 2 The This guidebook features the best extra-virgin olive oils in the 2017 JOOP competition that achieved a score of at least 7,00. Each oil is presented along with technical and sensorial info data, including the producing company.
