Aventura Suspension Bridges This is the newest attraction in Monteverde and it is located 1 km. from the Aventura Canopy. It is a combination of 8 suspension bridges and natural trails that will take you through the mountain. Here you will be able to observe an amazing flora, including different species of trees, lichens and orchids. Among the animals that might be observed are different species of birds including the Resplendent Quetzal, blue crowned mot-mot, brown jay, swallow kite tail; butterflies such as the beautiful Morpho; and some mammals such as the sloth, agoutis, howler monkeys. Enjoy the peace and sounds of the mountain while resting in the bench near a small river. Children s Eternal Rainforest This private reserve (biggest in Central America) get its name because the land was bought after Thousands of donations that children from all over the world send for this purpose. Bajo del Tigre is a section of land that belongs to the Eternal Children s Rainforest. It s a hummed pre-mountain forest, (unique in Monteverde), and also one of the best places in the area to observe wild life.
Canopy tour Be ready to start the adventure. You will begging by climbing a spacious metal ladder, which takes you to the first platform and you are ready to slide over the top of the trees. Enjoy the tops of the trees hanging from cables that will transport you through the mountain. This tour is a combination of nature trails and cables that allow you to observe the forest from the ground and from the tops of the trees. Duration: 4 hours approximately. El Trapiche Tour Costa Rican family runs business. Is a walk through a farm where you can get a glimpse of plantations that grow sugar cane, coffee, bananas, and others. In the tour the entire coffee processing procedure is demonstrated, the drying, grinding, peeling and roasting. This part of the tour with an ox cart ride to the Trapiche where sugar cane is processed. This process begins with grinding sugar cane which turns it into brown sugar. Throughout the tour you will have the opportunity to taste the products that are made from sugar cane as well as cup of coffee.
Monteverde Butterfly Garden This was the first Butterfly exhibit garden created in Monteverde. You will learn the importance of preserving the species of the area in the best possible way.
