Crooked Billet Elementary Tami Wunder-Italia 215-420-5311 titalia@hatboro-horsham.org October 2017 theme: RESILIENCY Resiliency is the ability to bounce back from tough situations Model behavior you would like your child to display Allow your child to accept responsibility for his/her own behavior and understand that his/her actions have consequences Prompt your child with Tell me some things you can do to handle this situation and help them to brainstorm, rather than just giving solutions Accept mistakes and failures as a normal part of life and learning Be calm, find solutions, and make a choice Remember try, try again No matter how big their problem seems, the sun will rise tomorrow (give hope) When life gets you down, do you want to know what you got to do? Dear Parents, CROOKED BILLET S 2017 READ A THON We are excited to streamline this new fundraiser by going online. You will be able to reach out to friends and family by email, Facebook, and Twitter, instead of going door-to-door, tracking commitments, and handling checks. By September 25th, you will receive an email with a link to your child s pledge page. You do not need to login or change anything. Simply make a donation for whatever you can, and share your child s personalized link with friends and family. We highly recommend sharing on social media. We are shooting for 100% participation so no amount is too small. The Fundraiser will end on October 13th. If you do not receive the email by 9/25, please contact Alicia at aliciabarbor@yahoo.com Here is some sample sharing text: "{your child s name} is participating in a fundraiser, and would love your support. If you'd like to donate, you can do so online at the following link: {pledge page url} Thanks for your support! The Read A Thon (and the Thanksgiving pies) are the ONLY fundraisers we are doing for the entire school year. We are asking for everyone to participate so we will not have to ask for any more money for the whole school year! The students are excited about it and we have a lot of great prizes for them to earn! Thank you! -The Crooked Billet HSA
